Griffin Matthews enters his final season you Mission and killer style sense. As Teddy Lockwood, Joe Goldberg’s latest obsession-in-law, Matthews offers an unusual voice of reason in a show known for its confusion, privilege and psychological twist.
“This is my first job where I’ve ever seen all the seasons and found myself in it,” Matthews said. Gatey. “On the first day, I walked over to the set and was like, ‘Oh, that’s a cage. Ah, it’s actually a pen.’ ”

“I play the destroyer in general,” he said. “And I think I’m usually black people and weird people. We’re the destroyers of life. We can show people that there’s another version of this story.”

Teddy is that confusion. He is stylish and sharp tongue, and yes, but he is also the voice of compassion and truth of the world consumed by lies. And for viewers watching at home, Teddy represents something rarely seen in psychological thrillers: authentic, layered representations.
“We’re not just going to see it, we’ll go home with them,” Matthews added. “We really know what’s behind the locked room.”
Matthews hopes that his character will be the beginning of a wider change in the genre. “I want to lead a series where becoming a gay black man who lives in 2025 actually peers into the world.”
