Santos expressed his regret in a letter to the judge before the verdict, saying, “This is mine, it’s mine, it’s just mine,” but he soon returned to public self-promotion. By Saturday, he continued to sell video messages on cameos, saying, “Recording videos is a huge part of my income and living, and that’s why I am extremely humbled and grateful.”

“I blow up myself with an ambitious quest,” he added. “I made a bed and now I’m lying in it. … So if you want to support me, book a special celebration cameo, because it’s an honest job.”

Santos’ request for pardon on Friday came after Trump issued a complete and unconditional pardon to Michele Fiore. A stubborn Trump supporter, Fiore faced up to 140 years in prison. She is on a growing list of controversial figures to receive tolerance under Trump’s second term.

As of Sunday, the White House had not commented on Santos’ request for pardon, and the amnesty law firm had not listed any formal applications. Santos must attract himself by July 25th. The Prison Bureau has yet to announce where Santos will serve his sentence.
