Boy George said he would like to write a UK Eurovision entry in the future, insisting that the focus should be on this song and joking that it should be “a bit gay”.
When you talk to BBCSaid the 64-year-old: “I think the emphasis should be on the song. First, write the song, then find the singer.”
Furthermore, he added: “We need someone with a great voice, like the big European belt hitting the sky.” […] And the song has to be a ballad that pretends to be disco, pretends to be Irish, but is a little gay. So it’s really Eurovision. ”
He was on the pitch again the next day. radio xOn The Chris Moyles Show, he said, “Well, I want to write a British entry. That’s what I want to do. That’s what I want to do, so I’m going to put it out there,” and added, “I don’t even know why we’re not more popular. Come on, we’ve given the world such great music! We’re known for great music!”

Boy George made a guest appearance on San Marino’s Eurovision 2026 entry led by Italian singer Senhit, but they did not make it to the final. They were eliminated in the first semifinal on May 12th.
He criticized automatic qualification systems for some countries, such as the UK and other “big five” countries, saying they were not a level playing field.
Britain’s Eurovision 2026 entry was Look Mum No Computer, real name Sam Battle. Finished in 25th place with exactly 1 point.
British LGBT Awards Honors
On May 28, Boy George received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the British LGBT Awards, hosted by Jean Paul Gaultier, in central London. He also won Music Artist of the Year.
“This recognition is truly an honor. I have always believed in being unapologetically yourself, so being recognized in this way means a lot to me,” he said.
