Ariana Grande has shared a message of solidarity with the trans community after President Donald Trump passed an executive order saying the U.S. government officially recognizes only two genders: “male and female.”

On Monday (January 20), President Trump began his second non-consecutive term in office in the United States, immediately rescinding trans-inclusive policies signed by former President Joe Biden. President Trump passed an executive order rescinding previous laws protecting transgender people. The order also means the word “gender” will be removed from federal documents and replaced with “sex.”

In his inaugural address, Trump said there were probably only two genders, adding that he would end “government policies that socialize race and gender into every aspect of public and private life.”

evil Star Grande responded to President Trump’s comments by reposting Instagram posts by campaigners. Transgender Equality Champion. The post said, “Today is a tough day for our community. The incoming administration is waging a campaign attacking the lives, health care, and dignity of transgender people, and we hope these extremists will be next… Be prepared for whatever you are going to do.

“No matter what happens, we will protect each other,” the post continued, adding, “We have fought harder battles before and won. We will do it again.”

The singer and actress also reposted a quote from influencer and podcast host Matt Bernstein that said:

“Whether or not you want us to exist is secondary to the simple fact that we exist. The sun doesn’t care if you sign an executive order telling it to stop rising every morning. . It just keeps going up.”

The “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)” singer has long supported the LGBTQ+ community. In 2019, after anti-gay protesters blocked a fan towards her. sweetener world tour, The star stood up for her queer fans.

Grande told fans at the time that she was “so sorry” that she “had to go through this.”

“I’m proud of you for not fighting or engaging violently. It was never worth it.” she tweeted at that time. “He is outnumbered. You are all so celebrated, so loved, so safe.”
