A 20-year-old suspect was indicted in California Superior Court for allegedly using an incendiary bomb to bomb Sam Altman’s San Francisco home early Friday morning (April 10).
Prosecutors said the gunman threw a lit Molotov cocktail at Altman’s property around 3:40 a.m., then targeted OpenAI’s headquarters later that morning.
The reported suspect, Daniel Moreno-Gama, was taken into custody by San Francisco police late on the morning of April 10 and is currently facing multiple charges, including attempted murder and arson, with authorities describing the incident as a targeted attack motivated by the suspect’s fear of artificial intelligence. san francisco chronicle.
The suspect had documents in his possession that outlined plans to harm Altman and cited concerns that AI would cause “imminent extinction,” according to court filings.
