That’s why some users are turning to Goose, a new dating app that’s being marketed as an alternative to Grindr. WIRED’s investigation found that “many of the faces used to promote Goose were linked to underactive accounts with unusually low follower-to-following ratios. Additionally, some appeared to be linked to Instagram accounts that appeared to be generated by artificial intelligence.”
“Out”, a sister magazine of “The Advocate” previously reported Goose was created by openly gay model, actor, and beauty entrepreneur Derek Chadwick and was promoted as a social-first, “anti-algorithm” alternative to Grindr, Sniffies, and other dating-focused apps. Jacob Ogles (the real person) has the latest information from a WIRED investigation.
