love story
An online dating success story! Alex and Joey met on November 16th, 2019.
When we first met before our holiday, they were hoping that 2020 would turn to “this guy I’m on a date” would turn into something more. 2020 proved it was true until the global pandemic decided to promote a timeline of romance.
Alex is an emergency room nurse in Marine, California, and while working over 12 hours of shifts, he needed someone to watch 90 pound black labs, Buster. So Joey went to stay with Alex at his house in San Francisco.
Four months later, Alex and Joey, along with dogs Buster and Wilson, moved across the Golden Gate Bridge to their current home in Sosarito, California. Like everyone else living between 2020 and 2022, they went through all the madness the world had to throw at them. They both experienced personal losses and major life victory and milestones over the years, but they grew stronger through it.
After a 910-day date, Joey Hodges proposed to Alex Morris on a trip to Serita, Mexico, surrounded by many close friends. It seems no one was surprised by this engagement a few days before Joey’s 40th birthday. This shows that these two were intended (and Joey had decided to get engaged before he was 40!).

wedding
Amidst the backdrop of breathtaking natural beauty on California’s central coast, Alex and Joey were surrounded by the warmth of family and friends, celebrating their love at a truly unforgettable wedding, followed by cocktail hours, seated dinners and indoor receptions.
The day began with the sun giving a golden glow to the picturesque ground of Madonnaine, adding an ethereal touch to the romantic atmosphere. Located in the heart of San Luis Obispo, MadonNine provided the perfect setting for a love story to unfold. Throughout the day, the couple moved throughout the space – rocking many shades (errr, pink!) in this over-the-top eccentric venue.

When guests arrived at the ceremony they were greeted with bubbly glasses and sounds of acoustic guitar and vocals. The decoration was an over-the-top pink blend, reflecting the couple’s unique personality. The arrangement of flowers in soft pastel hues, with bold pops of colours adorned the horns, exuding a timeless sense of romance. The ceremony was a deeply emotional event. Surrounded by lush floral patterns and soothing melody of live acoustic music, they exchanged vows. There was no dry eye in the crowd as they publicly declared their love and commitment to each other and promised to embark on a lifelong journey together.
After a heartwarming ceremony, guests were led into a secret garden, beautifully decorated for cocktail hour. The evening was a symphony of joy and laughter. This is because toast grew from the heart in honor of the newlyweds. The menu featured the delights of cooking, with caviar at the top of the table.
The first dance was a true reflection of the bond between Alex and Joey. At every step, they embraced the rhythm of their love story and reminded everyone of the deep connections they shared. The groom then opened the dance floor and guests attended a celebration of “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” in Whitney Houston.

Following a brief appreciation, Flower Grooms invited Dolly Parton’s Drug Ins Personal Sorter to get everything on the floor before inviting everyone to sit down for dinner. The five-tier pink wedding cake is a masterpiece, with a spectacular piece decorated with intricate designs and five flavors, telling the story of Alex and Joey’s journey. As they cut the cake together, they symbolized the promise of a shared life filled with sweetness and joys of their union.

As temperatures soaked and stars appeared in the night sky, the celebration continued indoors with a set of DJs from Real Housewives, aka Wedding Crasher, aka Wedding Crasher. The couple danced the night with their guests and offered a series of late-night snack bites to keep everyone nourished as the party continued. The couple’s exit is an epic display of sparklers that a loved one has, creating a stunning tunnel of light to mark the beginning of the adventure as a couple. On Sunday we handled a brunch buffet in a gay 90s room before departing for our honeymoon to Europe.
