Venus in Virgo: August 24th – September 18th
Venus moves into Virgo on August 24th. It’s a time of rest for Venus and meditation for Libra and Taurus ascendants. Technically, Venus is debilitated here, but that just means you have to work three times harder to get results. The debilitation won’t be lifted this year, but aspects from Rahu will help if you go with Rahu as co-ruler of Virgo.
Venus in Virgo can be particularly difficult for relationships as you can be overly critical and picky, resulting in poor partner choices, relationship victimization, romantic breakdowns, reproductive and bladder problems, sugar imbalances, and even divorce if you reach your breaking point.
Venus in Virgo:AmorousYou are more likely to surrender to the higher energies of artistic expression than to the “higher energies” of Venus. Succumbing to this energy may further drain your creative juices. This can be a challenge for artists, designers, professional dancers, and singers who rely on Venus. With Venus in Virgo, moderation is always key.
Your relationship skills really need to be tweaked radically. The key is to accept your partner’s shortcomings and not be too critical of the things that bother you. Relationships are always about compromise and acceptance. Trying to change your partner won’t work, but if you use your skills to communicate your needs in a non-aggressive way and find ways to compromise, it will work. Stop having to be right and arguing. It will never work.
Venus rules business expansion and purchasing power, but in Virgo these energies may be weakened. Stock markets often fall and sales drop when Venus is in Virgo, so you’ll need to work three times harder on your creative marketing efforts during this period. Venus rules peace and diplomacy, but with the instability in the world with Israel and Hamas, and the fact that Israel is a Libra rising planet, this is a troubling transit.
Lion pose is associated with Venus and the second chakra of creativity and creativity, so you can do this pose if you feel like your creative energy is dwindling.
Those with Venus in their Taurus and Libra rising will have the most trouble with this transit, while those with Virgo and Capricorn may fare best. Libra rising in particular will need to rest more, conserve their energy, spend more time meditating, or go on spiritual retreats to make up for the yearly imbalance.

There will be something for everyone, providing enough material and new insights for those with no prior knowledge as well as those with more experience. My goal is to modernize Vedic Astrology from its psychological and emotional foundations for the Western mind, and to help understand the planetary and astrological archetypes and what we choose to learn in this lifetime. This class will focus on understanding the unique nature of each rising sign and that each sign has its own set of planets that help and distract. This modern version will go beyond good and bad judgment and try to understand the deep psychology of why certain things work and don’t work depending on the rising sign and the lessons we must learn from that placement. Even students of Vedic Astrology will gain new depth about planets and astrological signs in this class and more.
This class is a foundational introduction to the basics of Vedic Astrology for those who want to deepen their understanding of charts and learn the basics of how to read them. This is a foundational class for taking Barry’s further classes available on videotape and does not require any prior knowledge of Vedic Astrology. There are already additional foundational courses available for you to continue on with, such as Transits, Dashas, Nakshatras, and Secrets of the Houses.
