Sunday Spiritual Wisdom: Mud is Infinite
As a Scorpio Rising, I have taken hundreds of psychological and spiritual seminars over 45 years to clear up my past. Many were profound. One of my greatest seminar leaders left me with a great nugget of wisdom about psychological healing. He used the analogy of trying to remove all the mud from a dirty pond as a metaphor for purging dirty psychological baggage.
This metaphor is about trying to remove all the mud from a pond. Sometimes, when I walk to the lake around sunrise, the water is calm and clear, and I can see frogs and water plants at the bottom of the pond. However, when I go into the pond for a morning swim and stir up the mud, I can’t see the bottom and the mud seems to sink. You can connect all kinds of filtration plants to a lake, but you can’t remove the mud because there is an infinite amount of mud.
Elizabeth Lesser, Founder of Omega Institute states that it is not. But every once in a while, a moment of grace comes and pulls us out of the mud. And then we can see the bottom again, see the infinite self, and become one with the pond, the mud, the frog—and it is all one anyway!
Sometimes I think studying astrology is like endlessly digging through the mud to understand our pain and karma. It’s worth it and it’s part of the journey, but sometimes great teachers and avatars bless you with gifts of deep light and enlightenment, and that’s always the case. I have been blessed these past few years and I am so grateful.
