Maharishi Jaimini, as per the rules, selects one of the Rashi from the Janam Lagna Chart (Mother Chart) as Upapada Lagna and makes predictions about the spouse of the native. He dedicated an entire chapter to Upapada. The prophecies are particularly concerned with marital harmony or with the distraction or rejection of a spouse due to illness or deformity (Sutras 2 to 23). We focus on Upapada, the ultimate determinant of family and marital life, and horoscope matching based on Upapada, (2) Profile of descendants through spouses (Sutras 24 to 31), (3 ) I wrote a detailed article about joint birth of spouses. , their lifespan, number, and physical form (from Sutra No. 43); (5) whether the spouse was born out of wedlock or by adultery (from Sutra No. 44); 48); whether this information is in the public domain or confidential; mosquito.
Returning to the main topic, the relevant scriptures are listed below.

The first scripture deals with spouses destined to be childless. There is a strange word used in this scripture: “अनपत्य”. This refers to a spouse who is a physical spouse but does not have the productive functions of a spouse, i.e. a sexually dysfunctional spouse, or an infertile spouse. Mercury, Saturn, and Venus are important in that order. What is remarkable about the three planets is that they are triangular with each other.
Sutras 26 to 30 need no explanation. The basic question is when Mercury, Saturn and Venus become child negative. The answer is found in scripture no. 31. The key word is Kukshi, which some scholars interpret as Lagan and others as VII Bhava. We humbly differ from them. Kukshi is the ovary (usually called “कोख” in Hindi-speaking countries) sperm nursery and is represented by VI Bhava (see end note).
I need to bring out Kukushilord.
- Starting from Upapada Lagna as the lord of the 6th bhava, we counted forward (1, 2, 3…., 12). If the Upapada Lagna falls under an odd Rashi, then by reverse counting, if the Upapada Lagna falls under an even Rashi.
- Lord of 6th Bhava from Navamsha Turya Rashi obtained by Putrakarak planet (planet ranked 5th on degree scale in any house). The count here is direct only.
These two sixth lords decide whether a couple is fertile or infertile. - If both 6th lords are Mercury/Saturn/Venus, no children will be born.
- If the 6th lord is other than Mercury, Saturn or Venus, there is a good chance that the couple will have a child.
- If Mars becomes putrakaraka and aspects putra sthan, rule number 2 is cancelled. No child will be born because it will cause an abortion or stillbirth.
Now we test these claims we made on real charts. Dr. PS Shastri in his book ‘Jaimini Sutram’ has given 24 charts No.147 to 170 of childless natives. We have selected 9 charts, ignoring the other 15 charts that do not show the degree of lagna. The reason is that we calculate Arruda on a frequency basis rather than a sign basis.
Explains some technical terms used in this article.
• Lagna Pithri is the rashi taken by the lagna lord in the native’s chart.
• Aru Bhava is the successor Bhava (II Bhava) of Pitree sign in male horoscope.
• Agar Bhava is the predecessor Bhava (XII Bhava) from Pitee sign in the female horoscope.
• Bhava counting systems under Upapada and Pitri Lagnas are both forward and backward depending on whether they are odd or even. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 are odd numbers, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 are even numbers.
- There are two types of Aruda Lagna calculations.
• General rule: twice the longitude of the Rashi road for which Arruda is required minus the longitude of the Rashi in minutes. Longitude of Rashi = Longitude of Laguna +30°. Every sign until Arruda’s target race.
• The special rules where rashi lords are placed in 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th signs from own rashi are called ist kendra, 2nd kendra, 4th kendra, adding 90° to rashi lord. and get upapada lagna. When rashi lord is in 3rd or 4th kendra, add 270° to rashi lord to get upapada lagna. - Putra Karak is the fifth planet in the longitude of the planets occupied by that sign in the native’s chart.
Chart No.147
Male, November 3, 1910
Degrees are to decimals. PKN is the Navamsha of Putrakaraka.
- Gemini is Pitri Rashi as lagna lord Mercury is placed there.
- The native male Anu Rashi is II of Pithri located in an odd zodiac sign – it is Cancer.
- Cancer arudha is upapada
month x 2 less cancer
=0S25°.29X2(-)3S23°.7
=1S20°.58(-)3S23°.7
=9 S 26 °.48 = Capricorn
Under Kendra’s special rules, Upa = Moon +270 ° =9 S 25 °.29 - Upa has an even sign when calculated backwards. The 6th zodiac sign is Leo – vacant. The Lord Sun is in Gemini.
- Putrakarak is Saturn (0 S12°.6) getting Leo Navamsha. Counting in order from the 6th lord of Leo, it is Saturn.
- Kuksi Lord Mercury and Saturn both (important to have children)
Chart No.151
Woman, June 21, 1954
- Sagittarius is Pitra as lagna lord Mars is placed there.
- The native woman Agar is XII of Pitri in forward count and Scorpio.
- Aruda in Scorpio is Upapada
Mars X 2nd Less Scorpio
= 8 S 12°.29 X 2 (-) 7 S 14°.11
=16 S 24°.558 – 7 S 14°.11
=9 S 10°.47 = Capricorn - Upa has an even sign when calculated backwards. The 6th lord is the Sun in Taurus.
- Putrakarak has Jupiter (10°.54) in Navamsha in Capricorn. The 6th lord in the forward count is again Mercury.
- Since Kukshi’s rulers are both Mercury and Sun, there is a 50% chance of having a child.
The sun is in the uterus. The second helpless Saturn from the child’s negative sign aspects the Sun which ruins the child’s potential.
Chart number 155:
Woman, August 26, 1961
- Cancer is a pitri rashi as it has lagna lord Venus in it.
- Woman XII born under the even-numbered sign Pitri is Leo if counted backwards.
- Aruda in Leo is Upapada.
According to Kendra’s law, Upapada is Sun + 90° = 7 1°.53 Scorpio - Upa is an even constellation, so if you count backwards, the 6th lord is Mercury.
- Putrakaraka has Cancer Navamsha with Venus (3°.18). Counting in order from Cancer, the lord of the 6th house is Jupiter, the planet that gives birth to children, but it is weakened and does not have the power to give birth to children.
- The natives had no children. Saturn will also be added to your own zodiac sign.
Chart number 157:
Woman, July 25, 1941
- Cancer is Pitri as the Lagna Lord Moon is located within it.
- The native female Agar is the 12th generation, counting backwards as Pitri is a Leo.
- Aruda the Leo
=3 seconds 8°.36×2(-)4 seconds 25°.35
=1 second 21°.31 = Taurus - The 6th lord of the reverse calculation, Upa, which is in an even sign, is Saturn.
- Putrakaraka is the Sun who acquires Virgo Navamsha. The 6th lord in forward counting is Saturn.
- Saturn is the lord of the 6th house, so there are no children.
Chart No.166:
Woman, June 24, 1905
- Libra is a Lagampi tree as Lagna lord Mars is placed there.

- Aruda in Virgo has Upapada in Pisces as per Kendra rule.
- Upapada is on a par with Libra, the 6th sign of the zodiac, which is ruled by Venus.
- Sun is Putrakaraka and gets Navamsha in Sagittarius. The 6th lord in forward counting is Venus. The lord of both Kukushi is Venus. Venus refused the child.
Chart No.170:
Male, March 6, 1929
- Aries is lagna pitri due to the placement of lagna lord Venus.
- The native is Anu II, a man counted forward from Taurus.
- Aruda in Taurus is Upapada: Venus x 2 less Taurus
=0s 5°.36 X 2 (-) 1s 1°.18
=11 seconds 9°.54 = Pisces - Since Upapada is an even sign, if you count backwards, Libra is the 6th bhava and Venus is its lord.
- Saturn is getting Navamsha in Taurus in Putrakaraka. If you count in order from the 6th lord of Taurus, it is Venus.
- The lord of both Kukushi is Venus. I don’t have any children.
Chart No.171:
Female February 28, 1934
- Aquarius is Pithri because Lagna Lord Sun is placed there.
- Native female Agar is XII counting forward from Pitree and is Pisces.
- Aruda in Pisces is Upapada. By Kendra Rule सुत्तस्थे जन्म Since Jupiter is retrograde, Arruda is Ju(R) + 10 signs = Gemini and since Jupiter is retrograde, we reduce one sign from Gemini to get Taurus.
- Upapada is an even sign and if you count Sagittarius backwards it is the 6th bhava and Jupiter is the lord and is a positive sign.
- Sun Putrakarak gets Aquarius Navamsha. According to the forward count, the 6th lord Navamsha from Aquarius is the Moon – a positive sign in which both Saturn and Venus have negative aspects.
- The couple adopted a child.

- Moon is Putrakaraka and gets Virgo Navamsha. According to the forward count, the lord of the 6th is Saturn – the negative planet of children.
- I don’t have any children.
Note:
Dividing Sutra No. 31 into two parts reveals the usefulness of this sutra. The first part “Explanation” is very easy to understand. It means finding the VI Rashi (Kukshi) and its Lord from the direct or reverse counting of Upapada Lagan Asper applicable in each case.
The second part is a little trickier, पंचमांश ग्रहभय: च एवं. It means the Navamsha of the planet of 5th rank on the constellation-wise degree scale, i.e. the Navamsha Lagan of Putrakarak. Then he said, “This is the best guide to preserve what is said in the first part of the scriptures, otherwise Rashi would have said:” . . .He said the word “एवं” I saved this iteration by using . It has two planets printed on it that rule the VI Rashi of Upapada and the Navamsha of Putrakara.
He expresses this in many places in the text. Let me give you an example to convince the reader. It is आयु: पितृ दिनेशमयाम (Chapter 2 Ain Section Sutra No. 1) एवं मंद. चन्द्रामयाम (Sutra No. 5) In Sutra No. 1, it is stated that Ayu is controlled by the lord of the sign in which the Lagna lord is placed and the 8th lord from that sign. Rishi then proposes Saturu No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 as long-lived, medium-lived and short-lived respectively. Under Sutra No. 5, he introduces Saturn Pithri and VIII Lord from there, Moon Pithri and VIII Lord from there, Bhava counts both direct and inverse depending on whether the Pithri sign is odd or even. Masu. Therefore, two parts have been constructed using एवं which also covers Sutra No. 2.3.4. Avoid repetition in Saturn Pitree and Moon Pitree panels. Your use of एवं is wonderful.
