When I was talking about Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius in a session with a client this week, I described it as being like playing whack-a-mole with your email and inbox. For example, if you send 10 responses, you will only receive 15 responses.
Or you might get five things sorted, only to find that there are seven more waiting for your attention.
What is going on in your brain now? Mercury is trying to do a million things at once, perhaps under a false sense of urgency, which can be difficult for our human brains to manage.
(As an aside, Mercury Rx is done in her monthly protected home and is currently my monthly protected timelord. So, certainly, we both have current Mercury Rx and personal (In case you personally have a different experience!)
Strictly speaking, Mercury currently has four factors challenging its status.
- It’s disadvantageous
- Located in the sign base square to Saturn
- It is ruled by a harmful planet (it is Jupiter in Gemini)
- It’s retrograde
If your mind is at ease or graceful, you might enjoy this poem by Mary Oliver that I keep reading over and over again.
when I’m among the trees
mary oliver
When I’m among the trees,
Especially willow and honey grasshopper,
Similarly, beech, oak, and pine.
They give off such signs of joy.
It is no exaggeration to say that they save me every day.
I’m far from my own hopes,
I have goodness and discernment.
And never rush through the world
However, they walk slowly and bow frequently.
All around me the trees are stirring their leaves.
Then I say, “Wait a minute.”
Light flows from the branches.
And they said again, “It’s easy.”
“And you came too.
To the world to do this, to go comfortably, to be fulfilled
May you shine with light. ”
My therapist mentioned this poem in a recent session. I’ve been thinking especially about the following parts:
“And you came too.
To the world to do this, to go comfortably, to be fulfilled
May you shine with light. ”
As much as I can, I’m taking advantage of this Mercury retrograde to reflect on what it means to take it easy. I personally try to pay attention to when and where I feel these feelings. “A hint of such joy.”
Today, December 12, 2024, when Mercury Retrograde forms a sweet sextile with Venus in Aquarius, we offer this poem in the hope that it will provide you with a moment of comfort and sweetness.
