After a heavy spring with Saturn in Pisces still weighing down the water sign and the solar eclipse behind it, the weather will brighten considerably in June 2026. Exalted Jupiter returns to Cancer at the beginning of the month, Venus joins us in the second week, and Mercury follows after the summer solstice. The blessings of the three converge in Cancer. This is a true celebration of the work and a configuration we haven’t seen in 12 years. Mercury will also be retrograde at the end of the month. Here’s an overview:

On Monday, June 1st, Jupiter enters Cancer. Brihaspati returns home with signs of exaltation after a one-year visit (until October 31st, actually until summer 2027 as it retrogrades back into Cancer in January 2027). People will be excited about an exalted Jupiter, and rightfully so, but an exalted planet can carry too much energy and cause an imbalance. I will write more about this in another article. For now, expect a genuine return of wisdom of the heart, dedicated living, and the urge to teach and study what matters. Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac and marks the beginning of true education and knowledge, not just intellectual understanding but inspirational wisdom. Jupiter was last here from June 2014 to July 2015. Watch this period carefully if it makes sense to you.
Venus enters Cancer on Monday, June 8th at 7:12 a.m. ET. Venus moves into Cancer and conjuncts Jupiter, achieving a close combination of two great boons, both powerful, once every 12 years (Jupiter exalted and Venus in the sign of the friend). This day favors acts of generosity, art, music, and small rituals of love and beauty. There is a danger of overindulgence to a certain extent, as Venus and Jupiter together rarely say “enough is enough.” This meeting also saw the signing of peace, but perhaps the time for hope with Iran has come.
Mercury is in Gemini from May 29th to June 22nd. Mr. Quicksilver at home was almost unscathed, and Venus remained by his side until June 8th. It’s the perfect window to write, study, or empty your inbox. See separate Mercury article for a walk from Nakshatra to Nakshatra.
On Monday, June 22nd, Mercury enters Cancer. This is when the three benefactors Mercury, Jupiter, and Venus converge in Cancer. When you have a group of three beneficiaries like this, it’s simply a blessing to your work. Use this window for serious learning or projects that require both heart and intellect.
Rough patches and what to plan for
Saturn is at 60 degrees to the Sun at 6:49 pm ET on Tuesday, June 2nd. This aspect is a complete Vedic aspect. Underlying structures and constraints can take a toll on leadership and temporarily dampen the Sun’s enthusiasm and power. In some cases, this aspect may cause conflicts with superiors and authority figures. People with a strong Taurus Sun in their chart may feel this more, and if it’s a problem with their physiology, their blood pressure may rise.
From Monday, June 29th to Thursday, July 23rd, Mercury will be retrograde in Cancer. The retrograde station is located at 2 degrees 02 minutes in Purnavas Pada 4 in Cancer. Mercury then turns retrograde across the Gemini-Cancer border on July 7, with its direct station still in Purnavas at 22°06′ Gemini. The entire retrograde is within one Nakshatra, Purnavas, and is unusually clean. Expect standard Mercury Retrograde housekeeping like travel, signed contracts, and devices, but with a touch of Purnavas and Jupiter, and old writings, old students, and old teachers coming back into view. This is a good period to revise rather than launch.
what to do with the moon
If you’ve been waiting to start a course of study, a writing project, or some heart and soul work together, the first three weeks of June are the best time of the year. After June 29th, slow down, fix, and protect what you’ve already built. Jupiter itself doesn’t turn retrograde until later in the year, so the underlying mood remains generous even as Mercury goes dormant.
