The intense solar eclipse in Libra will occur on Wednesday 2nd October (3rd October in Australia).
This solar eclipse will be the last solar eclipse in Libra for this cycle, ending the shifting, releasing, and clearing process that began in October 2023.
Cleanse with the South Node
This solar eclipse is a new moon or solar eclipse, but it occurs near the South Node, emphasizing themes of endings and letting go, as well as cleaning up clutter and releasing the past.
Right now, you might want to physically organize things from your home, office, wardrobe, or garage, or clear out old, unused, or broken items. Or you may be nearing the end of a healing process that has helped you break habits and tendencies that no longer benefit you.
shadow from the past
The South Node has a shadowy, emotional quality. Around the day of the eclipse, you may find yourself thinking about who you used to be or about a relationship you once had.
Manipulate solar eclipses in your chart
By focusing on the topic of Libra in your birth chart, you can get more specific about where and how this eclipse will prompt change and liberation in your life.
For example, if Libra is 11th When you are at home, you may notice your energy clearing and shifting around your friendships and interaction patterns when you are in a group.
If Libra is 9th Home, you may be changing your beliefs, beliefs, and even your outlook on life. You can let go of ideas that have outgrown you, or you can deepen your connection to a new and increasingly spiritual perspective.
If the South Node encourages you to let go, it’s okay to think about what you want to get rid of or change. You can then use the cleansing and flushing energy of the South Node to expel anything that is crowded, stuck, or outdated and no longer useful.
Overcoming Libra tendencies
Since this eclipse is in Libra, one way to approach it is to consider the relationship habits and tendencies you’ve outgrown. You may explore how you can adopt a more just or impartial approach in your interactions with others.
This may mean staying away from the tendency to keep the peace or compromise when you don’t really want to. That might mean learning new skills around debating, negotiating, and discussing (all Libra skills!) to better explore ways to find agreements that respect everyone involved.
The South Node is nearing the end of its 18-month journey through Libra. The South Node is scheduled to migrate to Libra in July 2023 and leave Libra in January 2025. During this time, there has also been an emphasis on explorations of justice, law, and the power of the legal system.
Energy changes and old fears during a solar eclipse
You may be emotional and sensitive around the date of the solar eclipse, October 2nd or 3rd. Your energy may be low or you may need additional rest. This is a debilitating eclipse that can deplete your vitality. This low-energy effect can last 48 hours, but will pass as the Moon moves away from the eclipse’s location.
You may be working on changes and cleansing in your visible world, but deep within you your energies are changing as well.
Ghosts of the past, old fears and worries may be briefly flared up. If so, remember how much you’ve grown and how you’re a different person in many ways than you were before.
During a solar eclipse, the past and present momentarily blend together. I hope this helps you see how far you’ve come and how much progress you’ve made. You may be inspired to take a meaningful next step in your personal growth journey.
South Node and Spiritual Priorities
The South Node isn’t interested in ambition or worldly glory, so this Libra eclipse will help you pay attention to how your interests are changing, or how things that are important to you now may be things you once strived for. You may notice how it is different from what you have seen before.
When you notice these changes, whether subtle or dramatic, give yourself permission to adjust your efforts and focus on honoring what’s becoming increasingly important to you. Stepping back from what you’re already working on gives you the space and time to rest, refuel, and eventually turn your attention to what’s next.
How about a solar eclipse at South Node in Libra? Which home does it activate for you?
Here are some of my past South Node solar eclipse experiences. How acknowledging my tendency to hoard paper helped me overcome my fears, and how repainting my laundry room helped me understand the importance of proper preparation. Let me introduce you to Taka.
