It feels like the best resort items are already chosen with travel in mind. Colors pulled from painted doorways, necklaces that look like they were handmade at a seaside market, sandals that look like they were bought from an island store.

That’s the heart of destination dressing. I love letting location guide me when putting together a look, taking cues from the colors of the landscape, seashells along the coast, stripes on beach umbrellas, and the blue of tiled walls. One small reference leads to another, and the entire costume feels like it evolved from the setting itself.
