Shakira took to the stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ Finals Halftime Show at New Jersey Stadium in New York wearing a custom Roberto Cavalli look by Fausto Puglisi embellished with Swarovski crystals.
This two-piece set is crafted with a custom “Ray of Sunset” print developed specifically for Shakira, inspired by Roberto Cavalli’s iconic Ray of Gold motif, and crafted in golden hour hues with vibrant pink accents. The look featured a Roberto Cavalli bodysuit with a deep criss-cross neckline and side cutouts, paired with a skirt draped using a moulage technique. The skirt is constructed of satin chiffon strips with embroidery and fringes in both the “Ray of Sunset” print and bright pink plain satin chiffon, cut to different lengths to accentuate Shakira’s movements throughout the choreography.

The bodysuit is fully hand-embroidered with over 200,000 Swarovski crystals, combining flatback hotfix crystals and chaton stones. The embroidery follows the motif of the print, creating a rich gradation of sunset hues with warm shades of pink, orange and citrine. This intricate decoration requires more than 120 hours of hand embroidery and two weeks of craftsmanship, and the interplay of two crystal cuts enhances both the surface shine and dimensional depth for a luminous finish.

The 34 ballerinas who performed with Shakira wore variations of the single look. The two-piece ensemble, consisting of a criss-cross bodysuit and matching skirt, was rendered in a “Ray of Sunset” print in vibrant shades of orange and yellow, mirroring Shakira’s custom stage outfits and creating a consistent visual identity throughout the performance.
