LIR National Academy of Dramatic Arts

A message of thanks and congratulations from the students of LIR National Academy of Dramatic Arts and from all of us! Whether you have come to our productions, taken our courses, become friends or just loved us! We truly value the support of everyone, including those who have shown an interest in our activities.

This year’s congratulatory message was created entirely by third-year stage management and technical theater students and performed by third-year theater students.

Please join us January 9, 2025 This free, special open house event is hosted in collaboration with technology partner ROBE Lighting.

ROBE is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of moving lights, recognized for its innovation, quality engineering and commitment to the highest production values. ROBE will display a wide range of the latest equipment.

Join the ROBE team and experience a live demonstration. All levels of lighting experience are welcome to attend, from the curious to professional lighting experts.

The venue is free, but reservations are required.

“Lir at Work” is a communication training program using acting techniques aimed at people in the workplace. Check out our upcoming communication skills workshops, which can be booked individually. Enjoy practical and engaging workshops where you train with like-minded people from other organizations.

Public speaking, fighting fear (face-to-face) / January 30th / 10.00-17.00
This public speaking course incorporates a variety of theoretical, practical and performance modules used to train professional actors. Under the expert guidance of a voice and performance coach, you’ll learn breathing techniques, mindfulness, and tension-relieving exercises to support your confidence.

Made Brilliant presentation (face-to-face) / February 27th / 10.00-17.00
This practical public speaking course will transform the way you present at work by giving you the presentation skills you need to deliver an impactful, confident and engaging performance when you need it most. Helpful.

Business storytelling (face-to-face) / February 21st / 9.20-17.00
Storytelling for Business is an effective communication skills workshop where you’ll learn how to harness the power of storytelling to connect, influence, and inspire your audience with greater impact than ever before. .

Youth Academy 2025

Course start date: January 11th (10 weeks)
Period: Saturday 10:00 – 12:30
Youth Academy will return for the new school year in January 2025. This is for both returning students and new students joining the class for the first time. Each course focuses on core elements of acting training and the courses are divided into two age categories: 12-14 years and 15-17 years.

Introduction to musical theater

Course start date: January 13th (10 weeks)
Duration: Monday, 6:30pm – 9:00pm
Through these adult group masterclasses and rehearsals, an intensive immersion in musical theater will help you build confidence, develop new skills and develop existing skills in a supportive environment.

Introduction to dance

Course start date: February 10th (8 weeks)
Duration: Monday, 7:30pm – 9:00pm

Learn 4 dances in 8 weeks. Suitable for individuals and couples, no experience required. Try out the exotic rhythms of tango one week and immerse yourself in the crazy Charleston the next.

The Art of Screenwriting (Online)

Course start date: February 11th (10 weeks)
Duration: Tuesdays 7:30pm – 9:30pm
This online introductory course is perfect for students looking to improve their screenwriting skills by focusing on different forms, ideas, and techniques of screenwriting. Taught by BAFTA winner Dave Evans.

Puppet performance workshop

Course start date: February 15th
Period: Weekends 10am to 5pm

This weekend course examines some of the multiple forms of puppetry used in theater and film productions. Participants will be introduced to basic techniques used to animate hands, objects, sticks, tabletops, mouth movements, Bunraku styles, and puppets.
