An orchestra plays behind the designer Prabal Gurung At the New York Fashion Week shows, models stalked the runways in loosely draped outfits of chiffon and silk.
The Nepali-American fashion designer made a big political statement at the opening of her dreamy “Holy Hope” show at 1 Centre Street in New York City.
Gurung embodied hope for a brighter future by wearing a shirt that read “VOTE” in the many colors seen in his stunning Spring 2025 collection.
In an interview The Hollywood Reporter The designer explained.
““Hawk is a sense of abandon and optimism. No enemies, just having fun,” he said, adding that Harris’ emergence as the Democratic presidential nominee has suddenly reinforced these notions, with his design taking a bit of a last-minute turn toward unashamed optimism.It’s “s”.
There was a clear optimism throughout his line, with soft, bright colours that ranged from daytime chic to evening elegance.
Looking fresh and glamorous, Gurung teamed up an ocean blue blazer with a colourfully embellished dress and a flowing white silk scarf. In a similar shade of blue, she teamed up a pair of asymmetrical shorts with a colourful pastel top and blazer set.
Besides his masterful use of colour, Gurung also played with texture in innovative ways. He showed a dramatic, eye-catching top made from mohair dyed into floral shapes.
Including diversity on the runway (Which Bethan Hardison I fought hard.), Gurung’s show saw a lot of models of colour.
The fact that he is an advocate for inclusivity in the fashion industry makes his collections even more appealing and desirable.
In addition to bold textures and eye-catching prints, the New York-based designer also showed off his talents in eveningwear: a red bandage halter-top dress with pink silk ruffles that was unlike anything we’ve seen recently.
The inclusion of gold metallic on the long dresses was another winning message. Prabal’s collection conveyed peace and serenity, and was a call to action to think bigger, dig deeper and create positive change.
Gurung is acting as a catalyst for a more inclusive future, using his platform to express his creativity and empower others to vote, which is quite remarkable.
