Simply put, we cannot be what we cannot see.
And who is this week’s Kirby Boss? Even if she didn’t exist, she’s a blueprint.
meet Paulaska Ramirezfounder and executive director of Generation Fearless and Fearless Impact Collective, are women who build legacy, impact, and opportunity while being unapologetically and fully themselves.
Paulaska Ramirez once built the room she was looking for
Paulaska Ramirez’s story is rooted in purpose, but it’s also rooted in the gaps she knew all too well.
“I have spent my career at the intersection of education, empowerment, and equity,” she says.
As a first-generation Latina in higher education, she experienced firsthand what it means to navigate a space that wasn’t created with you in mind. Her lived experiences not only shaped her; activated she.
“What inspired me to pursue this path was the gap I once had to navigate alone, the lack of representation, mentorship, and resources.”
So she did what Curvy Boss does best. She created a solution.
through fearless generationPaulaska Ramirez founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating, empowering, and supporting first-generation women through mentorship, scholarships, retreats, and comprehensive programs. and through it Fearless Impact Collectiveshe helps organizations drive practical conversations around inclusive leadership and workplace culture.
Her mission is clear and it is:
“I wanted to create a community that would say, ‘You belong here and your story matters,’ which is what I needed when I went to college.”
Show up fully, loudly, and intentionally.
There is no such thing as a “typical day.” paulaskaand honestly? That’s exactly what she likes.
From mentoring first-generation students on campus to consulting organizations, planning retreats, grading papers, and stepping onto the stage, her life is full of impact.
But it’s not just her actions that stand out the most; how she appears.
“Sometimes that means swapping your sneakers for heels, putting on a bold red or pink lipstick, wearing Miss Kitty glasses, and big, free curls, and stepping into your stage-ready self.”
Yes, style is part of her armor. But presence? That is her power.
“I show up by being fully present, leading with intention, and leading the room with my authentic voice.”
And own her space?
“We come in unapologetically, center people who are often left behind, and create a little magic wherever we go.”

No blueprints? No problem.
If you’ve been waiting for permission, a roadmap, a perfectly laid out plan…this is your sign.
Because Paulaska Ramirez didn’t have that.
“One of the biggest challenges I faced was not having a blueprint for what I wanted to create.”
Instead, she trusted her vision, leaned into her values, and assembled what she called a “personal board of directors” to build the plane in the air.
And here’s the gem:
“Not having a blueprint was actually my superpower. It gave me the freedom to innovate and create spaces that didn’t exist before.”
Please read it again.
Representation is not optional, it is necessary
Let’s talk about it.
Because Paulaska does.
“Growing up, I rarely saw curvaceous, Latina women like me in positions of power rocking 3C curls.”
That absence? It lingers. It questions your belonging.
But what about now?
she teeth expression.
“When I walk into a room with big free curls, bold lipstick, and an unapologetic presence, I’m showing the next generation what’s possible.”
And she’s not just holding the door open.
“I don’t just open the door, I leave it open long enough for others to come through and thrive.”
Phew. It’s a traditional job.
Be confident, but make it a reality
Paulaska is honest when it comes to confidence.
It’s not perfect. It’s presence.
“Confidence is like expressing who you are, with your curls, curves, and bold lipstick, and knowing that you deserve to be in every room you enter.”
And when does she need a boost?
Incorporate signature looks like Miss Kitty glasses, statement hoops, and a power lip.
Because confidence can be cultivated through rituals, reminders, and recalibration.
Her advice? Jump.

If you’re overthinking your next move, she’ll give you a shout-out.
“Jump. Be scared. Be a little paranoid, but be strategic.”
Is it true?
“Magic happens when you take the plunge before you know it all.”
What’s Next: Expansion, Impact, Community
Paulaska’s momentum doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.
She is expanding Generation Fearless with a new satellite office. Fearless Community Hubcreating a physical space for first-generation leaders to grow, heal, and lead. She also continues to scale her consulting practice, helping organizations reimagine their leadership, culture, and retention.
Her mission remains strong today.
“We want to create a space that reminds women that they are powerful, capable, and worthy of living the lives of their dreams, and we want to bring as many as possible with us.”
