Happy day after the Met Gala!
I’ll be honest, even though I’ve been doing Fashion Bomb Daily for 20 years, it takes me a while to recover from a big night. And after 20 years of doing Fashion Bomb Daily, she’s now a Met Gala regular.
God is great!
This was Fashion Bomb Daily’s second year covering fashion’s biggest nights from the carpet. It’s always a special adrenaline-pumping moment to watch the industry’s creativity and brightest stars shine on center stage, supported by organizations that champion the arts.
This year we partnered with French media Vendetta Daily We bring you minute by minute videos and styles. Remember when I moved to Paris in 2008? My affinity for France came in handy and I was able to build great relationships with French companies like this one. While I focused on the interview, Vendetta worked on uploading the video in real time.

On this occasion, I was reminded of my love for all things French with custom couture pieces by Lebanese designers. Khalid and Marwan. We worked closely together on the look and since the theme was “Fashion is Art,” we decided to literally wear the artwork featuring paintings of black women by Marie-Guilmine Benoît, known today as “Fashion is Art.” Portrait of Madeleine. Created in 1800, during a brief period during the abolition of slavery in France, this work is powerful because it presents the subject as a singular focal point: majestic, centered, and fully human, at a time when black figures were commonly depicted as slaves or ornaments in European art.

The interpretation of the theme was interesting. I feel like most of the guests were leaning towards the “body” side, like adding painted hands to clothing or referencing anatomy, including skeletal elements, like Beyoncé. There were many standout looks, but my favorite was Emma Chamberlain in Mugler. She was like a walking piece of art.
Bravo!
I can tell you from experience that getting ready for the Met Gala is a lot of work.
