A Kelly is Nice, But Gigi Hadid’s Understated Bag is Better

When I think about the designer handbags I’d like to invest in someday, iconic silhouettes like the Hermès Kelly, The Row Margaux, and the Chanel Flap Bag all rank high on my wish list thanks to their impeccable craftsmanship and timeless status. But every once in a while, a proverbial new candidate appears on my desk that rivals my longest-held handbag obsession. So when I spotted Gigi Hadid today carrying a beautiful but unknown bag to me, I immediately wanted to know more.

Hadid had ivory leather Loro Piana room bagtop handle shape with polished flap closure and central gold padlock. There are few styles that can match Kelly’s, but Loom might be one of the strongest competitors I’ve seen in a while. And it’s definitely more affordable and easier to get your hands on. Hadid is the first person I’ve seen carrying this bag, but based on my knowledge of celebrities and their quietly luxurious handbags, I can only assume it’ll be on everyone’s wrists soon.
