Gone are the days when there wasn’t much to choose from beyond basic denim shorts, these days summer has everything from drawstring poplin shorts to lace-trimmed satin shorts to tailored Bermuda shorts. This season’s lineup includes innovations that are always at the forefront of fresh trends. shorts It definitely proves that.
I love wearing shorts and will never stop, but I’m definitely skeptical about certain shorts trends, at least at first. This is because, at 5’4″ tall (the average height for women in the US), certain lengths can be difficult, and when electronic communication models are typically around 5’10” tall, it can be difficult to imagine how certain styles will look on me. The obvious solution is to try it yourself. That’s exactly what I did. I’ve selected some of the most talked about short stories from Reformation’s current offering and highlighted five of my favorites. Whether you’re as tall as me or not, it’s always helpful to see what something looks like in real life before you decide to buy. So without further ado, keep scrolling to see what the hottest Reformation short stories of 2026 are and buy them for your own collection (trust me, you’ll want to).

Nora shorts
These short stories are perfect and have no notes. And that’s why it keeps selling out. I really liked the length, not too long and not too short, and the luster of the fabric. As for the fabric, it has some thickness, so the shorts are a bit structured as opposed to drapey. It runs a little large, so we recommend your usual size or a slightly smaller size.

gale shorts
If you want a crisp, simple satin short that can be easily dressed up or down, this is the one for you. For someone as tall as me, these are the perfect shorts. I was grateful for this because even mini shorts can be unwieldy for people like me who are short or petite. I sized up on these and I’m glad I did because they should flow a bit instead of fitting. Bonus points for the delicate and beautiful jacquard print.

darcy shorts
I’m always skeptical of long shorts, but they looked so cool on the model that I couldn’t resist trying them on. I was drawn to the combination of minimalist suit style and low-rise fit, but ended up finding that it suited me better than I expected. I usually avoid shorts that are closer to Bermuda territory, but these are mid-thigh, almost knee-length for me, and at my height I think they’re more comfortable to wear than shorts that are at or below the knee. Warning: Supplies are running out.

finley jorts
To be honest, most of the shorts I wear have an inseam that’s closer to 3 inches, so I wasn’t at all confident that these would look good on me. While 11 inches seemed like a stretch, long shorts remain a major summer trend and you don’t want to miss out. I think what made the Finlay shorts so incredibly successful on my 5’4” frame was the low rise and slouchy fit. 11 inches is still short for Bermuda shorts. I decided to pair it with kitten heels instead of flats. Flat shoes always tend to be knee-length.
