Alfred Hitchcock’s early trailer Psycho The above describes the film as “a photo you need to see from the start…or none at all.” That’s good advice given how quickly the first big twist arrives early in the film. But that was also a policy. Psycho“Hitchcock himself declares in a print ad. “We didn’t say anything. Even in 1960, ordinary movie fans had the habit of coming and going to the theater whenever they were happy. PsychoHitchcock, a marketing campaign for the film, was intended to change its relationship with the film itself.
As for trailer forms and content, audiences probably never saw anything like that before. There was no real footage from the film – and actually constitutes something like the short film itself – instead, it offers a tour of the major locations that Hitchcock has personally led. Of course, the Bates Motel and its owner’s home were “the most tragic, terrifying event that didn’t seem to be more innocent than the motel if I might say that.”
In his narrative, these buildings are not film sets, but real places of heinous crimes, and prove that he is too happy to provide suggestive details about it. We complain that today’s trailer “throws the film.” It seems like Hitchcock’s company here.
But after these six minutes, what was in the world that I hadn’t seen yet? Psycho,Do you really know about the movie? It seems to entail some kind of horrifying murder, and you will certainly be dying to know what kind and how horrifying it is. What’s more, who was surprised and intrigued by how Hitchcock suddenly revealed a blonde woman screaming behind a shower curtain in a motel room? Hitch fans may have recognized her Vera Mileswho was there? The wrong man First episode with 1956 Alfred Hitchcock present following year. They may also have noticed the names of the film’s stars Janet Leeand wondered what she was doing with pictures of such sensational appearance genres. One thing is for sure, when they finally get to their seat Psycho – Before Showtime, of course – they didn’t know what they were there for.
