This October, things go from bad to worse as the X-Men and Fantastic Four battle the villainous group 3K. While Cyclops’ team engages 3K above Philadelphia to stop the release of the X-Virus and the emergence of a dark future, the Fantastic Four mysteriously forget their identity (and how their powers work) while continuing their own quest to rescue Magneto, the master of magnetism. As if that wasn’t enough, when the X-Men’s base in Alaska comes under attack, John Greyclaw is left alone to protect it, and Psylocke tracks down a mysterious monster on a dangerous solo mission that promises to uncover dark secrets. Everything is happening across new issues DNX, X-Men, and fantastic four October of this year.

in DNX #3, 3K’s counterattack shocks the X-Men, and as the Chairman’s “Spoilsport Plan” goes into effect, Philadelphia is similarly exposed to the shadow of disaster. While the Fantastic Four race against time to provide the data that saves the day, the X-Men must keep an eye on the bare minimum.
“Amidst all the high drama and high action, DNXwe’re also finding time to zoom in on more personal moments and explore slightly smaller stories that are happening at the same time as the big events. ” DNX and X-Men Author Jed McKay. “X-Men #39 sees John Greyclaw, a determinedly non-X-Man, have to step up, while #40 explores Psylocke’s attitude towards life and death, and when to make the choice between them. Both of these tie into the larger themes of the DNX event and advance story threads that have been brewing for some time. ”
in X-Men #39, Enemies set their sights on a factory in Alaska, home to the X-Men. But the Factory isn’t immune…and John Greyclaw is his own army!
in X-Men #40, Alone in the potential location of a flying tomb, Psylocke tracks down a mysterious monster on a solo mission for answers. But the answers she finds may only raise more questions.
in fantastic four #18, The Fantastic Four are lost, having lost their memory of who they are and why they are there. But now they know they have to find Magneto fast because his life is at stake. But without an identity, or a clear understanding of their powers, the FF is a danger to themselves as well as their enemies.
“This is a really fun two-part conclusion that obviously works as an important part of DNX, but also stands alone as a Fantastic Four story for others,” he explains. fantastic four Author Ryan North. “I was able to take the Final Fantasy to places they wouldn’t normally go, both physically and mentally, and at the same time save the X-Men and the world. I had a lot of fun working with Jed, and I loved the challenge of writing Beast and Mr. Fantastic in the same room. It’s hard enough to write one smart guy, but two? There should only be one smart guy in every universe.”
