May brings chirping birds to townhouse balconies, flowering trees to city parks, foot traffic to local coffee shops, striped shorts to sandy beaches, and Demi Moore to the Cote d’Azur. This can only mean one thing. 79th Cannes International Film Festival has appeared. With that comes a surprising amount of black, sequins, and trails. Last night saw the festival’s official kick-off and opening ceremony, followed by the premiere of La Vénus Électrique (The Electric Kiss). It was nice that the kiss was touching, because fashion wasn’t like that most of the time. The model appeared in head-to-toe white, pairing a Pasquale Bruni diamond-studded Stella McCartney long-sleeved gown with a perfectly coordinated hijab, and a smokey eye and glossy lips completed the look.

Frederick Bell

Philippine Leroy Beaulieu
Emily may be in Paris, but Sylvie has just moved further south. It was in the spring of 2026, to be exact, that Leroy-Beaulieu turned to Saint Laurent. The star stepped out wearing a voluminous purple dress layered with ruffles and styled with Pomellato jewelry.

Negga also comes in spring colors and comes with lace and sparkly fringe. The actress chose a custom Dior evening dress, paired with toasty makeup and a natural lip that changed color slightly under the Mediterranean sun.
