Nunu Fine Art announced a collaboration with Manila Metropolitan Museum of Art Introducing German artists Peter Zimmerman‘s solo exhibition painting rulesIt opened on. Nunu Fine Art Taipei The exhibition, which first opened in Manila earlier this year, is Zimmerman’s first solo exhibition in the Philippines and brings together his recent sticker-based installation works and new epoxy paintings.

Together, these works mark a move in a more experimental direction in Zimmermann’s practice, inviting viewers to reconsider painting within the context of rapidly evolving digital images and artificial intelligence. His early work focused on canvas-based paintings; painting rules We introduce stickers as the primary material and treat them as modular units that can be repeated and reconfigured to generate images within the exhibition space.

of exhibition It also reflects Zimmermann’s long-standing commitment to image translation and digital processes, which he has explored through algorithmically altered source material since the 1990s. By extending these concerns into spatial installations, the work positions painting between the digital and the physical, while also raising questions about the perception and authenticity of images. Following the presentation in Manila, the exhibition will move to Taipei, where further iterations of the sticker-based installation will be developed.
