Queen in Black, a new crossover event born directly from Al Ewing and Carlos Gomez’s run VenomSpanning a five-issue series and obligatory tie-in limited series and issues, this story by Ewing and Ivan Coello follows Marvel’s heroes as they fight to protect Earth from an epic cosmic collision between Knull and Hela. Today, Marvel officially announced the cover and information for the final chapter of the event coming this September.
Hela has seized the throne of Knull and now commands an army of fearsome symbiotes as the Queen in Black. Meanwhile, Knull has conquered the Lightforce dimension and claimed terrifying new power as the “God of Light”! The two most powerful evils in the galaxy are at war, and Earth is the ultimate victor.
The newly revealed issue focuses on the long-awaited arrival of VENOMWORLD. queen in black #4-5, a surprising development that has been teased since the beginning of Ewing’s mind-boggling run. As Earth is consumed by the symbiotes, current Venom host Mary Jane Watson is forced to make desperate choices that will shape both the fate of the Marvel Universe and her future as a symbiote hero. In a recent interview with Marvel.comEwing explained the scope of the tie-up: Queen in Black: HeraCarnilla of the Norns tells the story of how Hela started all of this and how the forgotten Thor tried to stop it. Queen in Black: ThorOn the other hand, this work tells the story of Beta Ray Bill and the mortal Thor, Sigurd Jarsson. It’s how they react to Hela, and how Hela reacts to them. And finally, Venomwe get to see the battle against Hela from the perspective of the characters in that book: Dylan, Mary Jane, and apparently the Venom symbiote itself. It’s going to be a fun time! ”
