From the Cosmos chapter Soulmate strategy:
Written by Corey Seemiller
“As you wander through the maze, silently repeat a mantra to yourself,” a man in his 30s with a bushy beard told us.
I stared at the twinkling lights set in a circular maze on the lawn, then at the group of children whose laughter barely echoed in the distance from the other side of the park. About 20 people lined up around the perimeter of the maze. Although each of them wondered why they had come to the labyrinth, they had no intention of introducing themselves to hear their stories. . . Or share mine. All I knew was that I was on a mission to accept whatever the universe could offer to heal me and find my soulmate. And if it meant walking in the twinkling lights, I was willing to give it a try. We all lined up and entered one by one. Once inside, I decided to give the mantra I got from the energy healing session another chance.
“I’m grateful for my healing process,” I said to myself. I didn’t say it three times, but I still had no gratitude for this awful process, and now I found myself standing behind a slow crowd of people strutting their way through.
I wanted to scream, “Hurry up, my mantra sucks. I have to get out of here.” But I didn’t. I just walked in silence, counting the seconds until I could dash to my car.
“This will make you want rose quartz for healing, and definitely for love.” The woman behind the counter handed me both crystals in a small paper bag.
I stood there wondering why I felt the need to buy the crystal after the labyrinth collapsed.
As soon as doubt washed over me, a voice inside me tried to crush it. “Don’t give up on the spiritual realm. Energy healing, manifestation, and the law of attraction seem to be working. If the crystals are working as well, you will soon be healed and reunited with your soulmate.” The voice stopped. “And these stones are only a few dollars. Don’t be cheap, Corey.”
I succumbed to my subconscious sales tactics and paid the woman.
Just before going to bed that night, I held the crystal in my hand and chanted the mantra again. I didn’t feel anything other than sweaty palms, and I didn’t have the slightest sense of gratitude for my healing process. You’ll probably never get that $3 back.
