As a makeup artist who is used to having a full kit with me all the time, I know the struggle to narrow all your essentials down to one small bag! Trick? Beauty Mini. This is my edited about why you can make cuts, insider packaging tips and how to streamline your beauty routine for summer travel.
For me, beauty packaging has always been about balance. After all, summer vacation is the perfect time to go for a more popular back look, bronze naked skin and minimal makeup. When I’m preparing for my holidays, I think of two things: skins and multitasking products.

Skin comes first
After a flight or long road trip, the skin is the first thing that always requires a boost. I always pack a travel-sized, moist mist. There’s nothing beat the freshness and glow of the moment it brings, especially in the sun. Combine it with a mini cleanser and a nourishing face cream and you’ll appreciate the skin wherever you go.
Don’t forget SPF! There is no compromise here. Even if the space is tight, small tubes of high-protection sunscreen cannot be negotiated. I’m looking for a formula designed for the face and body. Ideally, it has a lightweight, non-abuse finish. Many brands now offer mini SPF sticks and sprays. These are great for top-ups on the go.
Make your base perfect
Put your heavy foundation at home. Instead, choose a mini-colored moisturizer, BB cream, or concealer stick. These are versatile and easy to apply with your fingers, giving you a more natural and sparkling holiday look. If possible, choose a product with additional sunscreen. A travel-sized pot with translucent setting powder locks everything and reduces the heat shine, but make sure it’s not finely ground.
Multitasking colour
Create space for the blush of the mini cream that doubles as lip tints, swipe to blend and become flattering like sunlight and moonlight. Mini bronzers and lighting sticks can give it a shine after washing, whether you’ve been able to spend hours in the sun or not. All you need is to choose a universal shade that suits your cheeks, eyes, and even shoulders.
Light touch eyes
Waterproof mini mascara is my charm for summer vacation and won’t get dirty after humidity or cool dips in the pool. I also love taking mini brow gel. It’s a bit smooth and makes your entire face look more refined. In the evening, travel-sized cream eyeshadow sticks add a touch of charm while effectively taking up space.
Travel Tips from My Kit
- Decant your favorites. Not all products come in miniatures. Use a small container or contact lens case for serum and cream.
- Make it clear. The clear pouch helps you find what you need a breeze and stay under the airport liquid limits.
- Hydrating hero. The sheet mask or gel under the eyes is flat and featherweight, and is incredible for tired after travel.
- Mile High Fix. Packed with balm that works with lips, cuticles and dry patches, making it convenient for airplanes.
Prioritize your home favorites
Many times people are splashing into new holiday wardrobes, but you shouldn’t do this throughout your entire beauty routine!
