Instead of crowding your nails with tiny berries, “you can also cover your entire nail with a single strawberry,” says Miss Popp. “This adds a more dimensional element to the design,” she adds, noting that texture and dimension are a big foundational trend this season.

Seashell nails evoke the feeling of searching for seashells and sand dollars on the beach. Seasonal designs appear on our feeds every summer, but this year many of the seashell manicures are being done on short nails. The horizontal lines and ridges in the design are lengthened, making short natural nails look instantly elegant. “On short nails, the basic seashell pattern looks even punchier because it’s on a smaller canvas,” he says. And this summer, seashell nails are more realistic than ever. “I’ve seen shell nails placed next to seashells on TikTok, and those nails look almost identical to the real thing,” Park says, adding that previous versions of this trend were more artistic, curved vertical 3D gel ridges polished with pearlescent chrome powder.
For short nails, Miss Pop recommends adding a small pearl near the cuticle in the center of the nail to show off the length. “Your nails will look longer if the focal point is at the bottom, or cuticle line,” she says.
