Happy Friday! Nordstrom Sale Earlier this week I had swatches of the Beauty Haul I chose: Here is the beauty set I purchased: And since many of the sets this year are discounted bundles of staple items, I already own a lot of the colors, so I’ve got swatches of a few more sets.
Hourglass Golden Rose Ambient Lighting Palette
of Hourglass Golden Rose Ambient Lighting Palette ($64) is probably my favorite of the bunch, but it’s not essential if you already have a bunch of Hourglass palettes. The colors are Celestial Strobe Light (shimmery champagne), Iridescent Rose Blush (medium rose), Dim Infusion Blush (soft coral), and Golden Bronze Light (soft bronze). I think all of the colors have been used before in at least one palette, but I love the combination and think it’s very pretty.
of Sculpt & Gloss Set ($45) comes in two permanent colors: Phantom Glossy Balm Mist and Sculpt Lip Liner Flaunt. The colors are really pretty. I’m still not a huge fan of the lip liner formula, but the colors are good. (Review + Formula Swatch) In this post). The duo set is being offered at a deep discount because of the sale. I already own both colors but I’ve got swatches for you guys. I’ve got both in use below.
NSALE 2024 Lip Set
There will be a lot of lip sets on sale during the sale, so if you’ve had your eye on any or need to restock, now would be a great time to try them out. If not, I’d recommend waiting until the holidays, since all the colors in these sets are permanent and there’s a good chance more interesting options will be available in the fall.
YSL Love Shine Lip Duo ($60) comes in two colors, shades 44 Nude Lavalliere and 150 Nude Lingerie. These are permanent colors. If you haven’t kept up with YSL Beauty launches, the Lab Shine formula replaced the Rouge Volupté Shine formula this year. Full review and samples here.
Tom Ford Beauty Luxe Gloss Duo ($90) is a beautiful two-tone neutral set in Inhibition (a beige tan) and Sunrise Pink (a soft rose). Both are permanent and I ran out of them quite some time ago, so I thought it would be a good idea to refill and buy these. They’re lustrous, fresh, and moisturizing.
Trish McEvoy Lip Trio ($60) contains three beautiful, wearable pinks. I don’t think this is actually part of the Anniversary Sale, but it’s a new set and was on display with other NSALE Beauty exclusives. Either way, I’m glad I bought it. It contains Lipstick in Perfect Pink (a soft, bright cool pink), Easy Lip Gloss in Babe (a creamy powdery pink), and Long Wear Lip Liner in Barely There (a neutral nude). This kit has shades that you’ll want to wear every day. I love the texture and colors.
NARS Afterglow Sensual Shine Duo ($45) contains full-sized lipsticks in Dolce Vita (soft rose) and Devotion (beige nude). I love this formula and have already used up the Dolce Vita. Both feel so comfortable on the lips. The amount of color and shine is perfect. This is one of my favorite lip formulas.
Westman Atelier Set
I just shared a look at the Westman Atelier set and added swatches. All colors are permanent. If you love a shiny, glassy skin or dewy look, you’ll love these. Summer Bronze Trio ($115, PR Gift) contains full sizes of Lit Up Stick in Nectar, Baby Cheeks in Dou Dou, and Liquid Super Loaded Illuminator in Peau de Soleil.
I love the Lit Up Stick and Baby Cheeks, and while Liquid Super Loaded is too shiny for my liking even when mixed with moisturizer, it does exactly what it claims and I know a lot of people love it.
of Petit Light Up Stick Duo ($40) comes in two permanent shades, Brulée and Nectar, and is perfect for traveling or tossing in your bag for on-the-go touch-ups.
Eye bundle set
There are lots of permanent tint eye bundles available. Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Shadow Stick Trio ($54) includes shell, moonstone and smoky topaz. Laura Mercier Effortless Eyes Trio ($60) comes in three colors: Burnished Bronze, Dune, and Rose Gold. Several people have messaged me saying they wish they would release new colors for the sale instead of repeating the same colors every year, and I 100% agree. I prepared swatches for you anyway in case you can’t actually get your hands on them.
Charlotte Tilbury Set
Charlotte Tilbury has many enduring bestsellers. Charlotte Tilbury Blush & Glow Glide Set ($88) comes with a gift of Pillow Talk Highlighter, Pillow Talk Matte Blush, and Pinkgasm. I’ve added swatches of a few more items for comparison/reference.
of Pillow Talk Lip Kit ($65) contains Pillow Talk in Lip Cheat, Lip Blur, and Matte Revolution. I think the Lip Liner and Matte Revolution are classics. I’m not a huge fan of the Lip Blur formula; it just sits on your lips and doesn’t transfer. I didn’t purchase this set because I already have the individual items, but I swatched them here in case you haven’t tried all three yet.
I’ve been using Magic Cream a lot lately, and I used up two bottles last year, so Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Face & Body Duo ($90) I bought it because I wanted to refill it.
Fragrance Set
of Byredo Le Triple Set ($95) is the same as last year. The bottle is super cute, but it doesn’t come with an atomizer spray. If you don’t mind the dabber style, this is fine. I Such an atomizer plate Rio or Instead, thisHowever, the glass is not as thick and sturdy as the bottle. Leather case It is for storing atomizers, but it is quite expensive. Below is a comparison between the full size and the mini size.
I was about to buy Parfums de Marly Fragrance Trio ($435) Includes miniatures of Delina, Delina La Rose, and Delina Exclusive. I’m not a fan of rose scents, but after trying the Discovery Set earlier this year, I fell in love with all three (La Rose is my favorite.) In fact, I still have it in my online shopping cart, but since I already own so many perfumes, I’ve decided to pass on it (for now).
Tools and Devices
Finally, I NuFace Trinity+ Starter Kit ($265). I’ve had my eye on this for a while and the sale price looked pretty good. I haven’t tried it yet but am super excited to (I used to have the older version). My face definitely needs a tone up so I have high hopes this will help.
Another tool on sale that I recommend is ghd platinum plus stylerIt’s a straightener, but I also use it to curl my hair. It’s on sale now, but I still use it a lot. You can see me using it. here.
I went on an Ambassador Access Day, and when I got to the store, nearly every item on my clothing, shoe, and accessory wish list was sold out in my size (or completely sold out). Barefoot Dreams Blanket of Check and stripe pattern and Cozy Chic Blanket At Pearl. I love having fresh ones on hand.
