Yes, Prime Dayback, and now it’s four days. July 8th to 11th. But I don’t hate it completely. There have been years since I found a great deal, like the real thing I actually used. And other years when I got sucked into buying random crap because it had a small timer and said “40% off”. We’ll explain how to run the Prime Day Gauntlet. I’ve saved a few things and if the prices go down, great. If not, I’m not wasting any money. I also checked out Walmart and tried to defeat Amazon on every Prime Day I love, so I’m targeting closely.

Prime Day 2025: It's worth it, why is Walmart coming to Amazon's throat?

First of all… is Prime Day still something?

Yeah. That’s still not the case. Amazon hopes to feel like Black Friday with flip-flops. But be honest: Unless you pay attention, it will be a cart filled with regret.

Trades faster and FOMOs faster. If you don’t walk with your plan, you’re sure you’ll need a $400 air refire and a case of protein bars you’ve never tried just because there was a slightly green badge next to it.

It’s actually worth buying on Prime Day

1. Amazon’s

If you’re in the market for echo speakers, fire tablets, kindle or ring doorbells, Prime Day is the time. These are one category where trading is genuine and deep. Things are bundled together, such as “buy an echo and get a smart plug for free.”

2. Famous household goods

If you’re looking to a shark vacuum cleaner, an instant pot, or a boogie air fryer with a touchscreen, this is your week. Legal Discounts – $80, $100, and even $150 from $150 every now and then.

But here’s the movement: use Camel Camel Camel or Keeka Check if the “previous” price is genuine or constructed. Amazon is known for raising prices before Prime Day.

3. Boring but necessary

Laundry detergent. Paper towel. Garbage bag. Although not sexy, these are often the ones that I wish you would buy more. In particular, with Amazon’s Subscription & Save option, you can stack up some discounts and stock up on stock without touching your emergency funds.

4. Gear from school

A solid price is displayed on the huge multi-pack that makes headphones, backpacks, lunch boxes, and kids’ lunch boxes the most popular in schools. However, don’t fall into a bunch of “school kits.” Usually there is high fluff.

Things you need to skip

1. clothing

Amazon fashion deals have fake retail prices with 90% off brand junk and remaining clearance.

You can see “70% off” everywhere, but it usually costs $25 and looks like it comes from a vending machine.

2. Sketchy electronics

If the brand name appears to have sneezed on the keyboard, skip it.

You will see gadgets with headphones, gaming accessories, tablets and large markdowns, but if you’ve never heard of the company and can’t find an actual review, it’s probably a landfill.

3. Everything that was sold magically today

Amazon loves fake urgency. Some prices are higher than they were two weeks ago. They then cut it by 30% and call it a deal. Don’t be fooled by using a tracker.

Walmart: Quietly (speech?) trying to kill Prime Day

While throwing “Lightning Deals” at Amazon’s slow countdown timer and you, Walmart is here, “Hey, we just sell for a long time and make it easier.”

Walmart Deals will be held from July 8th to 13thand for the first time, they do it in-store and online.

For Walmart+ members, early access will decline at 7pm on July 7th. That alone gives an edge, as you don’t need to refresh your browser in the middle of the night.

What’s on sale:

Laptops and TVs (often the same as Amazon sales)

Kitchen gadgets and small appliances

Outdoor items, dorm room gear, technology

Beauty, toys, clothes, school bunch

And they don’t do the strange “requesting invitations” that are obsessed with Amazon. For more details, please see more.

Target Circle Week: Colder, Same target

Target Circle Week execution July 7th-13thand honestly, it’s perfect if you don’t mind buying a smart TV but want to get 30% off sunscreen and school glue.

There is no Prime membership. There is no chaos. Bonus gift cards for purchasing baby gear, pet food, beauty products and more. They also love throwing surprise coupons to the app, so always check there first.

Plus, if you have a red card, you’re piling up even more savings. It may not be that flashy, but it’s a target. That’s not the case at all.

Best Buy: Tech Nerd’s Prime Day

Best Buy’s “Black Friday in July” sale teeth July 7th-13thand if you shop for name brand electronics, it’s a real candidate.

And what if you’re OK with open box gear? You can save even more. Seriously, if you’re buying something expensive like a laptop or soundbar, then start here.

If you’re curious Best Buy matches the price Amazon during the Prime Day event? Yes, me too.

I read very Information that is confrontational online about this, So I started a live chat with Best Buy Our price match policy does not cover transactions that are limited to specific customer groups. To qualify for this discount, shoppers must first sign up for their premium membership, Amazon Prime. The answer is no.”

Bummer, but it makes a bit of sense.

New things Amazon is trying out in 2025:

1. Invitation-only trading

Yes, it’s real. Amazon is doing many of these more than ever before.

It shows you a big, flashy deal for $299 on something like a 65-inch Fire TV, but instead of adding it to your cart, you’ll need to click on “Invitation”. Then Amazon just decides… who can buy it.

There’s no reason. There is no logic. It’s like trying to join a club you didn’t know until the bouncer says no.

Is it a nuisance? Yeah. Will it work? Again, yes.

If that’s the big thing you actually want, it’s definitely worth a click. Don’t rely on getting good fortune.

2. Young Adult Prime Tear

For those aged 18 to 24, there is a 6-month free trial, followed by $7.49 per $7.49.

If you qualify, it’s a decent perk. Perhaps a way to groom Amazon’s next generation of impulse shoppers.

3. Buy now and pay later

Push and declare the Amazon “Time Pass” option. So, if you’re trying to drop hundreds of dollars and don’t want to cough at once, you can split it.

Please note that it is not necessarily interest free. Don’t turn your Prime Day deal into four months of regret.

How to not get screwed this week

  • Create a list. Otherwise I’m buying nonsense at 2am.
  • Use a PRICE TRACER. If you trust Amazon’s “price before price”, you’re already behind.
  • Stack everything together. Use rewards, cashback sites, gift cards and more.
  • Please check other sites before checking out. Don’t assume that Amazon is the cheapest just because it’s the loudest.
  • Please do not buy. Lightning trading is digital peer pressure.

Final Take:

Prime Day is what you make it. If it’s strategic, you can knock out half of your holiday shopping in July and save real money. What if you’re making it a wing? You go out for $400 and get stuck with two back massages and a no-need juicer.

Create a list. Cross-shop everything. And maybe perhaps, Fight Walmart on Amazon and take real steals targeting your attention while you sit.
