Kathryn surprised us with several visits last week. I hope you could hear the screams Kirsten and Micah made when they saw her. This is what the 17 year age difference looks like. 😍

In case you missed it – this week’s postWant to know what my week is really like?

I started a new series this week. Can you feed 7 people with a $10 dinner each night?

If you’re having trouble coming up with budget-friendly meals that the whole family will love, check out our list of 70 dinner ideas under $10. If you want to get creative, here are some options.Dozens of frugal dinner ideasIt will keep your family (and your wallet) full!

Here’s what I made last week in this series:

  • Taco soup + roll & pear
  • Ritzy Chicken & Fruit
  • Sausage & Potato & Peas & Bread
  • Mac & Cheese with ground beef

Here are 70 other easy dinner ideas your family will love. All under $10.

If your goal as a parent is to raise a child who always makes the right choices and decisions, you will probably find yourself frequently frustrated and stressed because your child is not growing up as perfectly as you imagined.

But instead, if we see our goal as parents as leading our children to Jesus, failure becomes an opportunity to have great conversations, love our children in the moment, walk well with them, and extend the same grace and patience that God has shown us. Parenting is ultimately not about results (because we cannot save or change a child’s mind). It’s about our faithfulness.

Jesus came to lift the heavy and impossible burden of perfection from our shoulders as mothers. We can’t do everything right or do everything right (and neither can our children!), but that’s the whole reason we have Jesus! Even when we have difficult days, or days when we make mistakes and fail, we can look to God, rest in Him, and put our hope in Him. I am so grateful for His grace!

I started using @crystalliscleaning Back on Instagram – Be sure to follow me so you don’t miss what I’m cleaning these days. I I’m working on resetting my entire house one room at a time!

If you have recently experienced, or know someone who has, any disappointment, loss, or difficulty in your life, please let us know: Watch this interview and @courtneyprayduke!!Trust me, it’s well worth your time.

Courtney talks about what it was like to lose her husband in a tragic bicycle accident while having three young children. How devastated she must have been! She didn’t want to get out of bed and live her life.

But God.

He gave her the courage and strength to stand up and continue choosing to live. To put one foot in front of the other, to preach the truth of who she is in the darkest valley, and to let others care for her and carry her.

I highly recommend her book And she rose: broken by loss and restored by Jesus..

Baseball season is here again! I love spending hours outside watching Silas…that’s my spring and summer hobby!

Happy World Down Syndrome Day to the boy who destroyed our world in the most beautiful way. Because of you, we will never be the same, David! 😍

I look back on the past five years that we have been able to love you and think about how much I have become a different person by becoming your mom.

You taught me that there are so many things in this life that aren’t really important for us to prioritize or chase or stress about.

Because of you, I am able to slow down and notice and appreciate the many little things that were rushing by.

You have opened my eyes to a whole world of amazing people and families that I never knew before. I am now willing to go out of my way to meet people with disabilities, or who have children or families with disabilities. I never thought I would be able to join such a wonderful club.#luckyfew!

You and your mother have changed my perspective on so many things and provided me with a deep source of compassion and advocacy for those who are ignored and marginalized.

You taught me that words are not needed to convey and express love.

And most of all, you helped me understand what radical trust in Jesus looks like. Over the past five years, as I have navigated all sorts of challenges and unexpected emergencies, I have had many opportunities to witness God’s faithfulness in miraculous ways. You could literally write a book about the crazy and amazing stories of God’s goodness. And it made me much calmer and more trusting. Because I have seen with my own eyes how faithful God is…and I truly believe that no matter what, He will remain faithful. ❤️

We love you, our sweet David Mateo Payne!
