You may step into Walmart, throw something into the cart and find out later that you can get it 25% less What if you just bought it online while standing in the same weird aisle? Yeah. That’s this story. After all, Walmart’s in-store and online prices live in completely separate universes. If you haven’t checked both, you’re probably paying too much.

Wait, what? Isn’t Walmart supposed to be cheap?
of course. But “cheap” is relative, and Walmart pricing games are like playing 3D chess with a blindfold on it.
This is Dirio: I use Walmart Dynamic pricing online That is, walmart.com prices will change based on the postal code, store availability levels and possibly the atmosphere of the intern in Bentonville.
Meanwhile, the store prices are like old dogs…Updates will be slow and Not very flexible.
By becoming $24.88 Rubbermaid container set looking in the kitchen aisle? Pull it up at walmart.com (via the app) $14.88. Same product. Same store.
But online…it’s cheap.
It’s not a sale. It’s not a glitch. It’s just… how it works.

Why not ask the cashier about the price match?
Technically, Walmart allows you Prices match the in-store website.
But…it’s one item a day and you probably need a manager.
Additionally, items are identical, stocked and not all associates know or follow the policy consistently.
Also, although not a big deal, it is not permitted in Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
I was lucky enough to just flip the game: Order online while I’m still in the aisle, choose store pickups, subtract dramas for a low price and go out.
There is no conflict. There’s no awkwardness. Just a straight saving.
Here are three steps to bring it out:
Step 1: Get the Walmart app.
If you don’t have it yet, Please download. (If you are trying to save money but can’t worry about downloading one free app, I can’t help you.)
Open the app and tap the small barcode icon to prepare for a scan. Start walking through the shop as you are on a mission from the modest gods.
Step 2: Scan everything you are about to buy.
I’m talking about groceries, shampoo and patio chairs. Scan it and see what the app says. What if the online price is low? Please do not go to the checkout lane.
Step 3: Buy online… for store pickup.
Yeah. Literally, stand in the aisle and order on your mobile phone. Choose “Storage Pickup” and pay at a lower online price and pick up after an hour with customer service.
It’s legal. It’s easy. That’s strangely satisfying.
Pro Tip: Combine pickups and same-day clearance scans
This is how the Galaxy-Brain works. Scan nearby while you check online price in the store Clearance Item With the app. Sometimes they are even more marked online -or- The store has the wrong label.
By stacking online prices lower with the same day pickup, we doubled the discount.
I once scanned a $29.97 blanket labelled “rollback” in the store, found it at walmart.com for $14.82, ordered a pickup, and got the exact one from the same shelf.
Yes, I made eye contact with the cashier. No, I didn’t flash.
Real Life Example #1

A few weeks ago I was standing in the aisle back to school. Paper Fragrance Pen Packyou know, teachers become strangely territorial. Shelf tags read $14.72. It’s painful, but it’s fine.
The price seemed to be high so I scanned the barcode with Walmart App…and the exact same 12 pack Appeared online for $9.97is eligible for pick-ups from the same store.
Same product. Same store. Different universes.
So I did what a mildly indifferent bargain hunter would do: I left a pen on the shelf, stepped 6 inches to the left, and ordered a pickup on my phone.
An hour later, after running another errand nearby, I came back, showed my order number and left those pens. – 32% cheaper now – Like a kind of modest wizard.

Real Life Example #2

Walmart is Black + Decker 4 Sliced Toaster Tagged in the kitchen aisle for $38.97. I watched it for a while and it had barely bulged from its price for a few weeks.
Quick Scan with the app while leaning towards my cart and online prices It was only $29.96. Same toaster. Same passage.
So I ordered it on my cell phone and picked it up an hour later.
Fun facts: That damn toaster was literally bagged from the same shelf I found. I know because I saw my mate grab it.
3 Next Level Bonus Geek Tips
1. Please change the zip… Walmart is so weird – So here’s the deal. Open the app, go to Settings and change the store zip randomly. Small towns are gold. Prices will vary.
For no reason. Just choosing a store 30 minutes away saved me $18 on my car seat. I still picked it up from my local one. No one questioned that. Not even a side eye. It’s stupid, meaningless, and I always do it.
2. Use cashback apps such as Rakuten and Capital One Shopping – When checking out online. Yes, even ordering a pickup. Please click. Rakten, Capital One, anything.
It also works for pickup orders, but feels like stealing, but somehow it’s not. You’re stacking up savings like a clearance ninja.
3. Pick-only discounts are despicable AF – Walmart may quietly lower the price if you choose “Pick Up” rather than shipment.
There are no banners or confetti. But it’s going to be cheaper. I had to watch it go down a few dollars and reaffirm that I wasn’t hallucinated. I don’t know why they do that. I don’t care. I’m here.
