Happy Sunday everyone! What we have to say is we hope you are ready for a lot of truly exciting content that will take you down your path. We’re way too whimsical about it 🙂 And those who signed up for the newsletter know about big things. Anyway, up until then, there’s this week’s link…
This week’s house tour Co-designed by EHD Simon Haag and Studio Manifold. It is a warm yet stunning mid-century modern farmhouse in Yarra Valley, Australia. The perfect blend of organic materials and modern designs. Ah, and Jess Dream Floor Lamp she spoke at the 2023 “Best of Decor” Awards:)
From Emily: When I arrived, I was on a whim This sweatsuit jumper It fitted very well, was very comfortable and oddly flattering. I was late with my recent revival/love to Abercrombie (I couldn’t afford them for the first time and this time I feel like I’m too old for some of their virus pieces), but while I tried on this viral dress (Emerson), I ordered this jumper and loved the cut. The legs are wide and not too huge. The lower back tightens without feeling too tight or overflowing with elasticity. The arms are like bats, allowing for a lot of space and creating volume there, making the waist smaller. I know it’s still warm, but at night and morning I wear this and find it very cozy and cute.
Oh, and in case you miss the most satisfying (and fun) YouTube videosplease:)
From Gretchen: My house seems to be a dust war zone these days. No matter how many times you break the wing duster or vacuum, the bunny will always come back. And they’re bad bunnies. It’s getting too gross every time I find something new, so it’s an issue I have to fix. I recently moved my bed to a larger of two rooms. The Holy Cow – it seemed to collect lint from a long-standing dirty hair dryer there. No thanks! The internet said an air purifier might be my best solution, I bought two highly rated (One is for the bedroom and the other is for the living area). I didn’t have enough time to really see if they were the dust guards I was looking for, but so far I was impressed with their simple design, affordable price and overall quietness. I’ve just been running it and even forgot to have it most days. After I had enough time to cast that spell, I have to come back with an update and let you know if the dust will settle or run away.
From Marley: Let me admit that I’m not proud – for most of my life, I rarely drank water – only in restaurants (when someone is filling it for me), or when I’m taking medication. Since then, my life has changed twice. First, when I was given a hydro-powered flask with straw (I think I’d drink more water when I don’t have to remove the lid). Second, (and recently), when my bf gave me YETI 42 OZ Tumbler (Similarly, when I have to meet fewer numbers throughout the day, I think I drink more water – he knows me very well). I know this is not revolutionary. Obviously, drinking water is extremely important and I generally stay hydrated in my mid-20s than I was 18 years old. But if you’ve always thought you’d never deal with straws and propaganda in a giant water bottle of adult sippy cups, then you’re here to tell us that there’s an engrossed side to the internet tumblers out there. I’ve never woken up in the middle of the night and stuffed it with ice water and felt more refreshing than ever before. Seriously, I feel like the Yeti does a pretty good job of keeping the water cool, it fits in the cup holder – it’s not completely leaky evidence, but what’s that leaking so far is the amount of water that I can hold on a straw that I don’t mind – I don’t put it in the bag (it’s too big anyway). Yeti Mug Because I drink coffee incredibly slowly and it gets cold before I finish halfway through. Now I’m completely hydrated and completely caffeinated 🙂
From Arlyn: Whether it’s in the middle of summer or the death of winter, I’m someone who needs to sleep with air blowing into my face and body. That said, I take the fans in the room very seriously. In our move two years ago, our pretty good tower fans were tragically lost due to a fall (RIP). When the person began clicking on the mechanical sounds, I quickly retired to my neighbor in search of this amazing upgrade. After a lot of research, I landed This is from Dreo. It’s about 3 months of ownership and I feel comfortable in recommending it. It doesn’t blow you away and has a lot of bells and whistles you can control from your phone or the remote provided, and it looks decent enough (it even comes in quite a copper color, but I just went with silver). If you’re tired of sweating while sleeping this summer (or the upcoming winter haha), this is it.
From Mallory: I first put a white rug in the living room. Because I was desperately needed when moving in, and I didn’t know the direction of the design of the space, so I always thought I could stack a rug on top of it. However, this area has a very high traffic (as if you’re literally walking straight from the street because there’s no actual entrance), which has really gotten awkward. So I remember Kaitlyn and Arlyn rave reviews Little Green MachineSo I thought I’d give it a try. Everyone, it works very well. I have a wool rug so I try not to wet it, but you can control the sprayer and it quickly suppresses the water. I couldn’t recommend it any more!!
From Jess: Amy Poehler’s pleasant podcast, I’m sure you’re listening to Good Hang, but if not, This week’s episode It may have been the most pleasant thing so far. The guests were Abby Jacobson and Ilana Glazer. Their show Broad City It was Amy’s first real project, so intimacy and praise is very realistic and very obvious. I felt that it was impossible not to smile and laugh forever. My God is a real gift now. Anyway, I might ask again 🙂
From Caitlin: I was watching yesterday’s post (Viral Emerson Collection by Abercrombie, by Icymi) and I realized that I never sing my favorite praises Mary Jane Style Ballet Flat. I grabbed these last year (in a blush tongue, I would like to grab them in black too!) and they became the staples of my wardrobe – they were precious and comfortable, didn’t have to break in along the way, and their straps are too whimsical. I wore it this week for dinner with Jess, Mal, Arlyn, Velinda, Velinda, Julie and Bowser (yes, Gal is actually the best friend in real life!!!). If we’re going to invest in a flat in one ballet when we head into autumn, this is what I’m going to choose!
It’s ready for today and it’s a very good design week. xx
