Link, anyone?
This week’s house tour This is the incredible New York home of the one and only Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott. Although the couple was very hands-on, they hired contractor and friend Artie Lang and AD 100 designers. Heo Young. The article said it best when it described the house as “steeped in French and English aesthetics.” Please take a look.
From Emily: As you know, I’m a huge tree lover, but I also love artificial Christmas trees for holiday decorations, and I’ve got a new, affordable favorite. The other week I had a Christmas styling decoration shoot at The Curly (you can see it again this week!). this is a fake christmas tree Understood. This is a Scandinavian style fur, pre-lit with very warm lights. Not only does it look great, it’s also more affordable than most of the other great products on the market. Highly recommended!!
From Jess: Last Sunday was my birthday. Not only did I get to spend the day with the people I love, but I was surprised that my dad sent me there. this bag It’s a suede taupe color! Somehow he knew I wanted a brown bag and he made it happen brilliantly. He really has great sense. It’s super cute, a great size, comes in two different strap lengths, and the magnets on the clasp are nice and strong. I feel so effortless and stylish wearing this and I can’t thank you enough. Highly recommended 🙂
From Caitlin: I picked it up. gift time Last week – This is a 1934 memoir about the author’s journey on foot from the Netherlands to Constantinople. (Are the wheels of history turning? To save Google: Hitler had just come to power, but the war was still years away.) Fermor has been hailed as the greatest travel writer of all time, and that’s a well-deserved title. The book follows a kind and courageous teenager as he travels through newly fascist Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia. He observes everything – I’m talking flora and fauna, art, religion, architecture, language, clothing, traditions, all – and explains it all in the most beautiful prose. I found this entire book very moving. Although much seems familiar to us today, there is a sense of possibility and wonder that feels lost in our more connected, homogeneous, and intertwined modern world. It was really fun! (The best part? There are two more books in this series to read!)
Also from Caitlin: My friend Tommy is a world-class human rights lawyer (and not just in my opinion – he won the first human rights case in history). US opposes living former head of state), and he is currently sailing to Gaza as part of that. Freedom Fleet Federationon a boat full of doctors and journalists. He’s part of the second wave of ships (if you’ve been following the news, he wasn’t caught last week) and posts quick, easy-to-understand video updates every day. his instagram feed while he was sailing the Mediterranean. If you’re interested in first-person, real-time reporting from the scene of this humanitarian emergency, take a peek at his page. (On a personal side note, I worked with Tommy’s band over 10 years ago. He was somehow also recording an album and touring while juggling a Bolivian presidential lawsuit. And I’ve never met anyone with more moral clarity and backbone. I’m proud of him and proud to have known him.)
From Arlyn: It’s getting chilly in the mornings and evenings here in Los Angeles, and my cool-weather wardrobe currently consists of a few beat-up old cardigans and a few stained hoodies. So I was encouraged when I saw an ad on Instagram that I knew I couldn’t resist. chilton sweatshirt. As someone who has watched Gilmore Girls more times than Lorelai has had coffee on that show, that felt ridiculous. do not have I bought it especially since it was a pretty good price. It’s warm but not too thick, and is a comfortable oversize. I’m 5’3″ tall, which is longer than I expected, but I don’t plan on wearing my Chilton Prep sweatshirt to any fancy gatherings anytime soon.
From Mallory: I found a solid pair. tall brown boots I bought them for under $100 and have been wearing them ever since. It’s surprisingly comfortable. I took 10,000 steps in these shoes when they were new and they didn’t get any blisters (I love shoes that don’t require “breaking in”). The quality is good and the heel is just the right height, not too high. Recommended for those looking for the perfect boots for fall!
From Gretchen: Ever since visiting Santa Fe with my mom earlier this year, I’ve been obsessed with wearing silver. Our collection of sterling rings purchased from local artists and makers quickly became a treasure to us. The EHD team guarantees. I wear three silver rings every day. It’s a simple and interesting story. Recently, one of them slipped while I was cleaning something outside on the farm, and I was heartbroken to think I had lost it forever in the clover field. But I ran to Amazon. I bought a cheap metal detector. (lol) When I went looking for it the next day…I found it! Even more grateful to have it back on my finger, I decided it was time to finish off the rest of the silver look. I traded my signature gold cowboy boot necklace for a sterling necklace I found in Toronto, and have since repurchased several necklaces. verrrry cheap thick hoop With my new metal (certainly not real silver). I love that these are only $10 in case I need to buy them again, as I’m especially prone to losing earrings (I lost two pairs this week alone, they just don’t stay in my earlobes!). I still like to wear gold from time to time, but rocking this silver look is pretty fun!
From Marley: softest hoodie ever – Gap has really, really good loungewear at pretty good prices. This hoodie has the best fit, loose but not too big or slouchy. I think the size is perfect (I bought the small one) and it comes in some great colors. I also have gray and navy. male version Gave it to my boyfriend and he loves it (and my dad has it too and he loves it). All teens are here! What M was wearing was crew neck version Last week we agreed that Gap is now one of our favorite places to buy sweatshirts and more 🙂
Thank you for taking a moment. See you tomorrow. xx
