This week’s house tour is a really cool story about an Austin couple who promised the owner of a 100-year-old house that they wouldn’t tear it down if they sold it. They kept their promise, but we have to see what they did.
From Emily: Our family binge-watches the shows I completely missed, but I have to tell our generation that I’m not alone in my old snobbery. Brian and I were in our 20s in New York. survivor He made his debut. I had never seen a single frame of it, but Marley and Gretchen said they watched it with their parents when they were in high school, so I desperately (finished) watching it. modern family), we tried it. We are officially addicted. Marley gave me a list of the best seasons (there are over 40 now), so I started with season 20, then 28, then 32, 34, and now I’m hooked and can even watch seasons with fewer All-Stars. My kids (ages 10 and 12) love this show and we often talk about psychology, risk-taking, lying, adventure, etc. I watch an episode or two every night after dinner (or when the kids play sports or play). It’s a great way to cuddle and spend time together without much effort. Charlie and I are sitting together on floor pillows in front of the fireplace, cuddling. I value that a lot as he enters his teenage years, as he is now. So, shout out to Jeff Probst and Mark Burnett’s staff (who produced my season). design star, I don’t recommend that (lol).
From Gretchen: It’s been a while since I heard Em rave about her favorites. Brooklinen percale sheetsfinally I tried them myself. And yes, she is absolutely right! they are just the best. We knew how soft they were from filming with them and making their beds, but did we actually sleep on them? That’s a completely different story. It’s almost hard to describe how cozy and comfortable they feel. It’s so different from sleeping on regular IKEA sheets that I don’t think I’ll ever go back. A great gift for yourself to step up your sleep game, or for holiday guests who want to show off their hosting skills.
From Marley: Recently, new jeans That I really love you. Levi’s low loose, low/mid rise (just below the belly button), snug fit at the waist, and very straight legs. This is my dream jean fit. By the way, I have a short torso and long legs, so I feel very awkward in high-waisted jeans. I got them in this really nice dark wash and have already gotten so many compliments in the first week of wearing it. I’m definitely going to grab them for another wash! The website recommends sizing up. However, I’m usually between 26 and 27 so I ordered the 26 and it fit perfectly. (I also ordered a 27 and they still fit, but I didn’t like the loose look.) A friend of mine who also has them agreed that sizing down is an option since they stretch a little after a few wears. I’m 5’8” tall and the length is 32” and it fits just below my ankles. I like the length and think it would look great with boots or clogs, but the 30-inch length would probably be great for a cropped style too!

From Jess: A brand that I love from afar is Simon Miller. Their clothes are fun, bold, yet sophisticated. dream! Well, last week they had a sample sale, and let’s just say I’m now the proud owner of high quality sequined pants (and a few others that I’m super excited to wear). This sale was also next to my usual store (dangerous), so I stopped by with a friend. this knit top. It’s so chic that you can wear it with a regular bra and it’s very comfortable to wear. It’s tempting to buy matching pants on Black Friday, but we’ll see.
