Hey everyone. I regularly upload schedule links in one minute, but I can’t start this week as I usually do some fun little team updates. Half of our team is in LA and all of our Americans, so we want to repeat that we love our city, that our leadership is in control of it, and that these attacks are deeply hurting our community. They invite food vendors and construction workers, mothers, fathers and children. I’m not a criminal. We love our country and our diversity makes us stronger and more beautiful. We need to protect it.

This week’s House Tour is a stunning kitchen and mudroom designed by Linda Boronka Via Devol Kitchens. I sent these photos in Devol so there is no link, how beautiful is it? That Butler’s pantry is a dream!
From Emily: It’s been very upsetting this week to see what’s going on in LA (and our country). I don’t live in LA anymore, so I’m trying to get “news” from social media (frankly, I haven’t been involved in social or news all week for our massive garage Reorg – obviously a huge privilege). This post There are many simple breakdowns and ways to help. Yes, I also read a lot of the typical news outlets, but I’m really grateful for how this was broken down with so many resources.
Also from Emily: I recently read two books that are great summer readings – Carly Fortune, One Golden Summer It’s a sweet, steamy and essential reading that’s charming, nostalgic, and 100% perfect lakeside reading. I love every single one of Carly’s books and am very happy with the success of her publication (became a former romance editor and author, and her book was extremely successful). They are great storytelling, dialogue, and a 100% simple romance read with no worries. Love interest is always complicated, but lovely, respectful/attractive, and it’s very easy to fall in love with her character. I’ve finally finished too God of the forestI really liked it, but it’s much better on vacation when you can really get engaged and devoured at the beach. While you’re starting to grab, you’ll need to be careful as there are 6 character POVs and 3 timelines. It’s not “10 minutes before bed” (it’s a bit uneasy, so I finish it through an audiobook while cleaning the house, and start a romance at night to sleep with anxiety). It’s about summer camps where the child goes missing and then the same camp, another camp, is gone 15 years later. Both are from the same family. I’m not saying it’s a thriller. It’s more of a mystery, and it’s very well done (more literary than domestic thrillers), but it’s not easy to pick up and put it for a month like I did.
From Marley: I got it This sweater Recently from Madewell, I’ve been wearing that much this summer. It is extremely lightweight and breathable, and its shape is perfect. It has a slight boat neck, but not enough that it falls off your shoulder, and it’s a bit cut out. I wouldn’t say it’s oversized, but it has a loose fit – I would order a small one and say it’s pretty true to the size. There are also some additional colors.
From Gretchen: I was here in Portland and was Livinggg for our super sunny, extremely hot, essentially quickly summer weekend. And I have made a conscious effort to put my butt as outside and on the water as possible. At the end of last year’s season, I made a cave. I bought my own paddle board After borrowing from a friend for various camp excursions and day trips. However, until last weekend I had no chance to test it. I’m happy to report it was wonderful, convenient and very fun! This is an inflatable paddle board. This means it’s very easy to carry around and even easier to create with a carrying case/backpack. The paddles, fins, air pumps, and of course the boards, everything fits inside. The only complaint I have is to inflate it using a standard hand pump. It really removes it from you before you get on the water. It works – it’s not impossible – it’s just very exhausting. So I’ll go ahead and get my electric pump and really amplify my summer games.
Also from Gretchen: Speaking of summer, I have to scream at the other killer purchases I made last year. Old navy super simple string bikini. Sadly, they don’t have the bright cobalt blue colour I bought anymore, but they offer it in other cute patterns and colours (I want to hook the red when my size comes back). Although this suit is not groundbreaking, I love the string ties for the flexibility of their size and the ability to camouflage some of my chunks and bumps. I usually prefer a larger size on the top, around size 12, Matching bottom. Because it is a “cheap” suit, it is very well endured for me through many washing and water adventures. It’s something I often reach for, and it’s a great pairing with layout, paddle board tan Sess.
From Mallory: I finally started a vintage-turned-landroad special kitchen transformation. The apartment was built in the 1950s, so there are plenty of charm (and original vintage tiles!!), but don’t worry. My landlord installed 500 pieces of white paint and linoleum flooring to really tie it all together. So to start regaining the charm, I did two crazy things: I bought it at first SMEG refrigerator (Man, it was expensive, but worth it. My apartment is rent controlled so I need a lot of updates I budgeted and B didn’t have a fridge so I can bring it and keep it all the way through my life). I ordered it from WayFair, signed up for a $30-year membership and won $185 for Caitlin’s recommendation, so it was cool! Also, two weeks later it was crazy (much faster than the other retailers I’ve seen), but they delivered white gloves. The second big thing I did was peel and stick tile flooring. I got caught in some Chris Tiles Loves the Julia X Wallpops Collection And I was very impressed with the quality. It’s very heavy and feels like it’s closer to real stones than I expected. I ordered the dark grey and beige, but I think the dark grey pulsation looked a little more realistic than the light colours, so I went with it, but I was very impressed with both! Plus, at $16 per box these were good “savings” after my big “spreads”. If you’re in the market for some solid floor tiles, definitely check them out.
From Arlyn: It was a very heavy week in Los Angeles (i.e., it feels like it’s heavy these days, but since). In these times, when I feel very little, I I have it I delve into the small joys of my life. One of them? When I found the product at Trader Joe’s, I thought it had been cancelled last year! I picked it up late last summer This sea breeze Casteel hand soap And I fell in love soon. It smells so much more than the $3.99 price tag and is super luxurious. My sister came to visit and couldn’t wait to get home and buy it for herself. I’m sure I’ve caught the end of this Soap (HA) season story as she’s gone on shelf by the time she gets back home or when I run out and need to refill. Last year I cruised my personal care shelf at TJ, just in case it happened to back up. I’m excited and looking forward to the flashy scented fingers.
From Jess: I bought a pair Lululemon Bright Green Shorts A few weeks ago I have to say I’ve been acting like a 5 year old who doesn’t want to take them off. They are very cute and very comfortable. They’re not really awful, but I love them and feel the quality is great. Ah, they’re lined up!
From Jess: If you’ve been to Rose Bowl, you may have seen the artist Bradley Baumkirchner (aka Studio B) and his fun, mostly floral paintings. He sells a lot of large pieces, but they are original too! My friend bought most of this wonderful striped lemon piece, but it was sold when she returned. I just wanted to put him on your radar anyway 🙂
From Caitlin: I have recommended a fair share of books over the past few years, but whatever I’m trying to steal them takes away everything: Timeless construction methods It really changes your life. I thought I was buying a book about creating classic architectures. Instead, I found something much deeper. I have a hard time condensing my thoughts into blurbs. That’s how deeply this book moved me. I literally talked about it to all my friends – so I think it Must seeespecially for viewers who love this design. (And finally, once you get through abundance, you will learn how to build timelessly – check out some The buildings created here using the Christopher Alexander method. )
Stop by, happy Father’s Day, and don’t be afraid to use your voice. xx
