Happy Sunday everyone. First and foremost, we would like to say how grateful we are to the judges who are fighting against theft. Required program From people who are really in trouble. However, that doesn’t mean the people and organizations serving these communities don’t still need a lot of help. Especially since SNAP benefits could be significantly adversely affected anyway. Thankfully, there are many great organizations you can donate to. Emily talks about something close to her heart. here’s another one in Kansas City. If you know someone you trust, please write in the comments section. Finding a way to balance content that distances us from all the atrocities that are happening and talks about them is not something we can do perfectly. But as we head into the holiday season of so much spending and consumption (and we know we’re all part of it, with all the big promotions going on), please think about how you can help your neighbors locally, nationally, and globally.
This week’s house tour It’s magical and feels like real life is happening there. Stunning vintage home surrounded by California redwoods. Looking at this beautiful house will lower your cortisol levels.
From Emily: With SNAP benefits potentially ending (at the time of writing, they were scheduled to end on November 1st), I wanted to personally recommend a resource to those in a position to help others. Family Promise of the Tualatin Valley is a family shelter we work closely with here that houses 100 families experiencing extreme financial hardship (not to mention trauma). They are asking for donations to offset SNAP benefits. They are a great organization and will accept any amount (all year long, in fact), so if you’re feeling unsure of where to donate or how to help, I can personally attest to them. You can donate here.
From Jess: If you like the idea of lip stain but want a shiny look, I recommend it!After watching This moisturizing lip stain I knew I needed one of my own from my friend VIOLETTE_FR. The shade I got is Bêtise, which is described as a “warm berry” shade. It’s very pretty and can be lightened or layered for a darker look. It’s extremely comfortable to wear, and you don’t have to worry about it drying out your lips. 1000/10
From Arlin: My sweatshirt style isn’t perfect for this fall/winter season, but I’m slowly making amends. A woman I follow on Instagram posted: This awesome oversized quarter snap sweatshirt It arrived from Airlie, so I went to pick it up right away. It’s currently on sale (or at least it was when I wrote this article a few days before you read it), but you can get an extra 15% off when you sign up for emails, so be sure to search Google for other promo codes. Note: When we say it’s too big, we mean it. I usually size L/XL in most tops, but I sized down to size M, but I wish I had bought size S. I have a large chest, so I don’t like oversized clothing, so please be careful as it will make you look bulky.

From Mallory: Halloween is over. So it’s officially Christmas. Yes, I have already purchased my first holiday decorations. How cute this small A-frame house?!It would look so cute next to this A-Frame house (it looks just like a mountain house – yep, you need this!!) Also, if you live in Southern California and have never been to Rogers Gardens at Christmas time – put it on your calendar this year. It’s truly magical! !
From Caitlin: I recently found myself on the East Coast. It seems like everyone there is also experiencing something called “autumn.” (For reference, it was 90 degrees in Los Angeles this week.) The only ankle-baring pants I wore could no longer stand up to 40 degrees, so I gave up, went to the mall, and picked up these pants. wide leg pull-on pants From the gap. I’ve broken my self-imposed “small store or no store” rule several times this year, but these pants were worth it. It’s 100% cotton, very comfortable, easy to adjust, and I think the proportions are great. I’m looking forward to layering it with fleece-lined leggings this winter. Wide legs give you lots of room to bundle up. Congratulations to all Gen Zers who brought home the big pants! (P.S. Also, the pockets feel huge. That may not be important to you, but as someone who does a lot of the “no wallet, just pockets” thing, this is a big green light for me.)
From Gretchen: I took a few days off to escape to Hawaii (my first time there) and was in full vacation mode. We sunbathed all day, ate everything in sight, and drank mai tais like they came straight from the faucet. But I also spent a fair amount of time reading. Just before I left, my photographer Caitlin lent me this book. Evelyn Hugo’s seven husbandsand I said I had no choice but to read it. And I did. I ate most of it that day and saved the last bit for the flight home. It was a very fun read. It’s a good reminder, especially for someone like me who secretly loves devouring all the latest gossip headlines, that the news media can (and indeed always does) be this distorted. I know this book is already quite famous, but I didn’t know that, so I was very happy! A look back at different kinds of love, heartbreak, Hollywood, and Evelyn’s legacy. I felt like I could have gone deeper if she were a real person.
From Marley: Here in Portland, everyone in my mom’s generation wears Keene shoes – I shared mine. Keene Jaspers Previously, they had fun, funky silhouettes and came in lots of colors. I just picked up this pair of them jasper geonic sneakersa sportier, classic silhouette. I wore them in this fun blue/gray/white neutral color and love the chrome tongue. It’s a lot of fun, especially when paired with the included shoelaces. Both of these shoes are incredibly comfortable and perfect for a few days of walking around town, walking around the neighborhood, or even hiking. I like that they have a sporty feel but are more playful than regular walking shoes. Highly recommended!
Thank you for taking the time to talk to me today. Check back tomorrow for the announcement we’ve been waiting to share with you. xx
