Caitlyn writes hilarious posts on curved sofas, but I do the opposite here, bringing frequent awareness of outdoor furniture. As a self-appointed Prim Abassador of “Big Picnic Table,” I wanted to answer 3-4 people who are interested in why they like so much. A basic pedestrian picnic table is not a typical designer move. There are no flashy wooden grains, barely a mixed finish (maybe silver screws count?), and the trend is not very comfortable either. They are literally everywhere you see, in parks, churches, schoolyards. Still, they are so perfect for us, and don’t know of a solution that works in our backyards like our parks. The questions are: why Should I get a picnic table? Follow-up continued with some several roundups with different styles (some fancy, I promise).
They work on all uneven floor surfaces
I think I bought my first picnic table three years ago (above). We have this pea gravel area in front of a mini gim (near the mini pool), and the pea gravel is notoriously annoying to the legs of the chair (they get stuck, have difficulty moving each chair, get out of balance, and look stupid/sloppy as they are by no means a coincidence). So it was easy – which tables and chairs work on such an unstable floor? Included bench picnic table. I ordered these from Wayfair and I remember that they weren’t cheap ($750). But I liked the clean lines of shapes (see how they are all straight), the tone of the wood, and how it was assembled. I ordered 2 so I could put them together for a bigger kids party.
They sit evenly on the flag

I moved two of them to a snake-rock landing pad through a newly completed area of my backyard (thanks) Dennis 7 Dees) And love them. Here, our flagstones are fully installed, very flat and even, but still not concrete pads. That was done organically for a reason. If we have food legs, they certainly get caught up in the gaps. I love that these come with a bench on the floor that only has four width contact points.
Wait, I have a grassy backyard! Are there any picnic tables available?
yes! You can also enjoy life around the picnic table. They also work well with grass and are easy to move around if you don’t want to ruin the grass below. I love them near the trees for the shade (and therefore our giant trees Today’s big tree near). I also love how they can move easily – if we all want to get closer to a trampoline or something, then two can easily carry it around the garden. Furthermore, for a larger dinner party, you can put one long table on the grass in the evening on the grass. In conclusion (I feel like I’m writing a gesture in 7th grade), here’s why I love the picnic table:
- The atmosphere is casual, classic and charming, saying, “You can sit here and enjoy the day in the park together.”
- Table + 6 chairs are much more expensive, which makes them reasonably priced.
- They age really well if you exclude them all year round (as we do). If you are purchasing pressure treated wood or painting it with the right paint, you don’t need to cover them. They are just alive and honestly, they create a good looking wood carving (it may be stretchy, but it works for me).
- They work almost everywhere – flag rock, pea gravel, grass. I don’t put them on a more fantastical back patio (they look casual quickly, so if that’s not the atmosphere you want, yeah, they might not be for your space). I didn’t choose it for the kitchen patio, which is herringbone brick, but I think a cute umbrella would work out there!
- They are very flexible – you can dress up in a clean tablescape or sit like you have a potted plant in the center.
- They can be beaten in food, crafts, and scientific experiments and feel less valuable. Amazing craft table!
- They are children’s magnets. For some reason, kids love to sit around these. We have a billion kids who are always playing here, many multi-family BBQs, so we can specify these tables for the kids they love.
- They appear to be shoved together – a big old farm table for a charming dinner party.
- There’s no need to store them – keep them out and use them all year round!

The Portland EHD team works here from time to time, and although there is no back support or cushioning, it is completely comfortable for a few hours.

I also really like this higher end version I like (its build is really sweet), but the independent bench wobbles over our flag, making the table bench wider (so the chair is on the edge) which reduces the amount of people they can sit on.

Listen, I don’t think this post will blow up the picnic table market, but the functionality of this low classic outdoor table + good vibe is what I think can work well in other, even higher home yards. I personally think the rustic version is sweet (and some are very affordable – see below), but if you want to guarantee you will stand in 20 years, you can go Polywoodthere are several colors. If you’re in the market, we’ve rounded up a few of the following (and yes, if you want it to look more fun, if you want it to look more fun, you can completely paint a wood pattern or color, just look up the right paint to exclude all year round).

1. Premium Picnic Table Kit | 2. Outdoor grey black metal rectangular extension table + Outdoor dining bench in Koro | 3. Park picnic table | 4. Wooden patio dining set | 5. Picnic table in my hometown | 6. Outdoor dining table in Saldis + Outdoor bench in Saldis

Our table is a bit greying what we like and stands up on grime with seasonal cleaning. Now head to your backyard and see where you can put one of these charming little school building picnic tables 🙂 No, we usually don’t all sit on the same side, shoulder to shoulder 🙂
