It’s not uncommon for professional basketball players to choose shoes from trending Swiss sportswear brand On for their on-court style. In fact, this includes never This has happened before, until Stephen Curry maintained the status quo before a game against the Toronto Raptors on January 20, 2026.
Although the latter team won, Curry played a total of 24 minutes and 41 seconds and scored 16 points. While warming up, fans couldn’t help but stare at his fresh steppers and immediately recognized them as On’s The Roger Pro Fire sneakers. The sneakers are currently on sale for $220 in Curry’s color choice of white/pink.

Notably, Curry entered sneaker free agency after partnering with Under Armor in 2013, released his first signature shoe shortly after, and launched his personal sub-brand around 2020. reebok, new balanceand now On’s latest announcement has surprised footwear insiders.
On’s first court appearance (with less acrylic and more polished hardwood) can only be described as a coincidence, given that it was in a shoe co-developed with Roger Federer. Curry and Federer have long admired each other, tossing the coin together at the 2025 Laver Cup and visiting each other the year before during Federer’s Today Show appearance and one of Curry’s GSW training sessions. It’s unclear whether an official partnership is in the offing, but for now, On’s entry into the basketball world feels just as revolutionary.
At the end of the day, the Roger Pro Fire is a tennis shoe, but like a basketball shoe, it’s capable of multidirectional movement and focuses on the impact cushioning and midfoot support needed for both sports. Additionally, On says this best-seller is available for both men and women and is “designed for aggressive sprints, stops, and slides.” Featuring overlays and reinforcements for foot protection, a Speedboard plate for optimal energy return, a separated outsole for improved traction, and a forward-facing padded heel for comfort. Whether it’s Curry or Federer, flexibility and quick reflexes are key, and On’s The Roger Pro Fire ensures both.
Founded in 2010 by a former athlete, On has become a leading choice for runners, walkers, and even casual sneaker enthusiasts. Everyone from Emily Ratajkowski and Gisele Bundchen to Oprah and Jill Biden has worn an On shoe at least once, and the brand has won. Winner of FNAA Brand of the Year Award On, who has passionately pursued the field of tennis (see his strategic placement on Challengers, not to mention his entrepreneurial collaboration with Federer, which began actively in 2019), also leans into luxury, as with his recent viral Loewe release.
The NBA is shouting his name right now, and Curry may just be opening the door to something that completely upends the industry. Only time will tell, the time you can pass by scoring your own pro player is first approved by Roger Pro Fire Shoe.
