Just weeks after announcing its bankruptcy filing, Saks Fifth Avenue has launched a new sale online, offering closeout deals on names and fashions from top designers.
Saks Global announced its bankruptcy filing in January, revealing that at least eight brick-and-mortar stores would close, leaving 25 permanent stores in the United States. The company also announced that Saks Off 5th, the off-price division of the department store chain, will be almost completely closed.
Saks says its main Saks Fifth Avenue website will continue to operate as usual despite the company’s economic downturn, but shoppers are no doubt rushing to take advantage of online clearance sales in case inventory and selection start to dwindle in the coming months.
Saks Fifth Avenue now offers up to 70% of top designer brands online, with products from hundreds of top brands including Alaïa, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Cartier, Comme des Garçons, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Loewe, Margiela, Marni and more. The store closing sale includes sales on ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, accessories and more.
