Spoiler alert: This may be my favorite project I’ve ever done. But before I show you everything, please back it up a bit and tell me how it turned out. My living room (just revealed!!) and dining room (come to the blog soon!) are open to each other and pound in the middle of two spaces. It’s your average closet – nothing special. It’s full of coats, ladders, extra toilet paper, and pieces. There’s nothing appealing and everything you need to hide. Super functional, but not so as there are rather large closets and some cabinets in the hallway Completely need.

Yes, I’ve made sure this is your average, unorganized coat closet. The living room is on the left and the dining room is on the right. It was good to have extra storage, but I could have organized this space and left it as is, but there was another issue I had. Our kitchen (This is so cute and full of vintage tiles) but attractive small. It barely fits in a small fridge. So we don’t have enough space to store food there, but forget about the barware and alcohol bottles! It was a real disaster when it comes to bar storage and I was literally eager to find some sort of solution.

During Covid, everyone had a small hobby they picked up – it was mine to bake bread, go into calligraphy, what you have – and learning to make craft cocktails. I also love hosting. Therefore, I love having a full bar so when people come in, you can literally make whatever they want. Negroni? end. Do you feel the margarita atmosphere? It’ll come soon. Ah, do you want a martini? Shake, stir, baby? That’s the energy we have when our guests come in. Hey, it’s cheaper than strolling around at your local bar, so why not incentivize cocktails at home?

But yeah… do you keep a full bar in my itty bitty kitchen? There was no way. Plus, I hate the idea of people coming for dinner parties where I’m cooking, and everyone jumps into the little kitchen to grab a drink. What can I say, when I’m preparing food, I like my space!! I want to grab a drink to the guests, sit on the sofa and stay away if the stove is burning. So I started thinking a few things…and I asked so painful and painful, and finally thought…wait, is it the key to the door handle of that coat closet? Imagine that key is open to talk a little…

That’s exactly what I did…

lamp | silhouette art frame | cabinet

To be honest, I still argue about undoing this door, as I always called “closet talk” because there was too much work and too clean, but we’re cute mirror Outside the door, it just gets in the way… see below:

Leather chair | Rug | Drinking the table | Dining chair | mirror | Dining room rug | wallpaper | coffee table | chandelier

And now that my living room is finished, this is just outside the closet door! I have an absolutely obsessed DIY bookshelves situation. The whole space feels more drawn to me now.

Leather chair | Rug | Drinking the table | Black bowl | silhouette art frame | DIY bookcase

I had this idea for the closet to talk about and had to do it, so it’s actually comical. I created this closet before I got a real dining table. This is very hilarious and shows a questionable prioritization. Yes, this was the first space I finished in my apartment and it only took me two months, but let me say that it’s certainly more than I expected (isn’t that always the case?)

A person for scale! Hello! My main inspiration was Parker Palm Springs wine bar – If you haven’t gone, it’s iconic (and I’m clearly very obsessed with Parker, as it was also a major source of inspiration for a 500-square-foot studio apartment). This is a very sexy, low-methylene wine bar that fits up to 30 people, perhaps 30 people. I love intimacy and knew I could create something similar to this very intimate closet bar.

I always had a sense of affinity to high gloss, lacquer walls, but I knew it would make this little space bigger and the best way to bounce back the light around it. So I began experimenting with ways that I could create that look. It knows well enough that it’s not a renter-friendly, easy or affordable solution. There are plenty of vinyl peel and stick wallpaper options, but they are not that wide. I thought the seams might make the space look cheaper, so I found it Patented leather fabric And soak it into the wall (and I covered the staples trim So it’s super seamless). I ordered 8.5 yards as I did the door first and the total was $250 for all the fabric. At $30 per yard, this is very affordable, looks very high-end and beats the price of many wallpapers there. Staples are something you go outside, but it’s not impossible. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll beat this. The next tenant will probably be pumped up to get this bar, so I will definitely try to leave it if I can! Surprisingly, everything here can be removed with little damage to the closet. I also kept the rod so I can put it back Closet rod socket Like it couldn’t be touched.

Well, I’ve been waiting enough, let’s deepen you talking about this closet, we??

lamp | Cocktail stirring glass | Coupe Glass | Cocktail shaker | Martini Glass | Wood bracket | LED light strip | Wooden cocktail glass holder | Patented leather fabric | mirror

So, as briefly mentioned above, we chopped up the closet rod in about 5 seconds with this powerful tool. After that, we set up the shelves (I’ve never done this before, but all the bottles and so on had to support them to live here). I used these objectively ugly Super supportive bracket To lift the back of the bookcase (I covered most of them with a mirrored backsplash, but you can see a bit of them on the bottom of the shelf above – we took a photo of them in some of the photos, but after looking at the photos below where I placed them, we used). These clean wood brackets To support the front of the shelf.

I found the perfect Wooden cocktail glass holder Under this shelf, everything that was painted all over was painted with red to match the colour to the patented leather wall. I’m very obsessed with the look, especially with the way the brackets assemble these glasses. I love glassware so this was honestly important for storage purposes!

And I added too Battery-powered LED light strip On the shelf These acrylic shelves To lift the bottle and make the light shine – this made a huge difference as there was no light in the closet!

This shot above is the only shot that allows you to see the ceiling. This is truly the place my Parker Palm Springs Wine Bar Insco shows off the most! I ordered 9 These tiles And hang them with a command strip and they’re a dream! They really make the whole space.

Now, let’s talk about mirror backsplash! I was considering ordering a real antique mirror, please let me know – they cost quite a bit. I wasn’t going to take up this space and really wanted to save on the backsplash, so I found it These mirrors $25 for a 12-dollar pack. I ordered two packs and spray paint and got to work! I continued Lone Fox Home Techniques (Turn to the video for 12 minutes!) This castration paintafter that this and thisthen tap it lightly Alcohol inkand it worked really well, but I did a bit of scattering it, so I used a manicure remover to undo some of the reflective properties and I love how it turned out. Well, it’s time for the Cabinet Saga…

cabinet | Wine fridge | Kaby in a wine glass

Well, it was so hilarious to put this cabinet here. Let me explain. So I found it This gorgeous burlwood cabinet It was the exact width of this closet, and it was from Home Depot, so I thought… this would definitely fall apart and once the closet appears, install it and it’s perfect. Well, it definitely didn’t fall apart – this thing was built. And she was solid. But I decided to break this bad boy apart and put it in my closet. So I helped Austin come and cut it off with some of his flashy power tools (dating with me is great, by the way). Everyone, this is not upset. We took out all the screws we could find and hacked them with our saw. For two days in a row, I tried to tear it apart, but everyone thought I was crazy. The definition of insanity does the same thing and expects different outcomes. And I certainly took my phone straight to the side of the wood at that point and snapped this thing into two (but clean, clean). It was actually crazy. But this guy fits perfectly here, so I reassembled it inside and smacked it. So that this doesn’t go anywhere, you’ll never know Frankenstein I had to do to make it work. So if you’re in the market for affordable, high quality burwood cabinets, I recommend it. This one? It’s almost impossible to break or tear lol.

And the case you don’t notice… I’m a little extra… so obviously I’ll put it Wine fridge It took me forever to find something small enough to fit here (duh!). And since this was still a little too deep, I took out the back of the cabinet and pulled it out an inch from the wall (Please see here). I ran the extension cord to the left of the Speakeasy and painted the cord cover to match, so I don’t even notice it’s there.

Oh, then I have another bonus picture for you! The lamp you’ve seen in all the photos Vintage lamp I was found for $10, but this was a complete stolen. I ended up making my dreams talented Louis Poulsen PH Lamp (This is objectively one of the coolest things that happens to me ever), I tried it here and I love it. I have a bit here and feel a bit taller in this space so would you put it on the piano in my living room? Comment your thoughts on which lamps you like more and whether the door should be on or off 🙂

Louis Poulsen PH Lamp

That’s how I defeated all the closet stories. It’s a bit crazy… I know. I haven’t done half-viewed so I’m here…

Thank you for reading and following along with me. If you want to pack this closet together (like tearing the cabinet with bare hands), and see all my steps, you can check it out Part 1, Part 2and Part 3 On my Instagram. I’ll watch YA in the comments!
