Obviously the day is my favorite day. A magazine (better houses and gardens) is about to hit newsstands (I haven’t seen four of my favorite rooms in my brother’s house yet), but this room wasn’t finished filming in time, so I’ll actually reveal it (and hopefully it’ll come soon if possible). As you know, the section that was here a few months ago was one of Bennett’s samples that weren’t ready to be approved at the Texas plant, so I had to wait for it to be approved in Portland. Then I sat down on it and then knew I had to tweak it. So we remake it, make it better, get a new one and finally finished styling this cozy family room for my brother and his family. This room is a cozy green cave, proving that when mixed with warm tones, the green is very warm. Let me prove that…
Our U-shaped Cross Section – Bennett

introduction My first U-shaped sectionand that’s pretty amazing. I’m also oI’ve been arrested And I’m proud. This is one piece of furniture. This isn’t too easy to put shoes on a room where you might already have other pieces, but if you’re designing or rethinking from scratch, it’s a great way to keep your TV/family room simple yet comfortable. Plus, you can sit with so many people. We originally designed this room with a turnip velvet section, but when we redesigned the section they didn’t have that fabric in stock so they did it with “Evergreen”, one of the other fabrics they were carrying it, a green linen blend (polyblend, and really, really soft). In fact, I think this fabric is better for the family. Dog hair makes you a little more generous. Again, for linen blends it is very soft and soft (not hard at all).

As you can see, the proportion of it is very generous – my brother is a big man! We actually redesigned the original Bennett and made sure the center seat depth was sufficient and no one got the shaft. The seat cushion is cushiony, but not sloppy (medium luxury), and the back cushion is very easy to sink, but is made of a combination of foam so it will be smooth and not deformed. The arms are wide and sturdy. Flop over any of these seats and it feels really good. You feel comfortable and supported (Isn’t that what we want in most people and things in our lives?). I might add this to the line as just a section of the chise, as I know many people may not have the right room for a huge U-shaped gentleman.
Paint color + vibe

Wall colour | Roman colour | Polack bench fabric
This room was a bit inspired by our family room – dark, colourful, cozy and included (you can close the door of confusion). We painted it Evergreen Fog by Sherwin-Williamstruly incredible – it’s very cozy in the dark, with very soft and beautiful natural light. After being painted here, I was engrossed in this colour – I wanted everyone to come and experience (Warning: just a small window in Brian’s little lighting office, and for some reason it looked sad, so you still need to sample it!) Of course, the OG sofa was meant to be this warm brown velvet, but we all agree to maintain the green piece.

We highlighted the greenery with this super warm dark burgundy, which is almost aubergine, and many hits of ochre and mustard. Wooden floordoors, built-in. I’m obsessed with this colour palette. It is very warm and balanced, and overall looks fantastic throughout the house.

art | Consorle | Floor lamp | Side table |Pillow: left | center | right | Throw a blanket
I love this Maryann Puls The work created it in such a prominent place within their home. When we revealed it, we had it in their rooms, but no one saw it, and it clearly works even better here. I love it. It adds a nice, deep, dark wood tone (works on the table/chair on the opposite corner). Squiggle Ceramics is Virginia Singh (I bought a second-hand item somewhere, but I love).
Their kids (7 and 10) still play some on the floor in the corner, but there’s plenty of room for that, and there’s an incredibly large section for watching TV. They wanted two embraces (fits one adult and one child), but the proportion of this is also very comfortable for those sitting in the middle.
Curtains and colours

Roman tints and drapes | Floor lamp |Pillow on the right: left | center | right | Throw a blanket | Merrick Rug | coffee table | Candle | Marble tray | Fake Brunch | Terracotta Vase | chair | Glass vase | Pedustal Table
The large windows look westward, so it was pretty sunny in the afternoon (and even summer evenings) so I knew I needed some blackout curtains. We worked together Decoration Again, we introduced curtains to a huge window and electric Roman tints to the adjacent windows. We chose this dark green almost black. I love it with the colour of the walls and all the black hits in the room.

Note that the curtains are high and wide hanging, making the room look taller and larger even when it is dark. Well, warning – we really wanted dark curtains here, but were warned that the edges might disappear due to the sun. I chose the linen poly blend for this reason, but over the years there is still a chance that these dark curtains will disappear at the edges.
TV and built-in cabinet

Black frame | vase | Fake Brunch (Similar)| Marble grooved bowl | Door pull | Cabinet color | Long plate | Darkwood painting frame
The cross section is the center samsung frame tv (85 inches for scales), these simple cabinets were designed and installed below (and painted with darker green). There is still plenty of room to walk and play in front of the sofa. The cabinet includes media, board games, craft/toy bins and drawings.

The dark green is Foxhole Green From Sherwin-Williams, it still kept the room tone, but added depth and contrast in an unresistible way. handle It is a black wood dyed from Etsy.
Game/Homework Table

We wanted to create this little corner where they could play art, crafts, colors and games. This chess set At their dining table, we styled it here. We ordered 8 chairs for their dining table for when they were people but they only needed 6 so they put two here and then They look pretty good.

Lotus pillow | throw | Pleated velvet pillow | Patterned pillow | Bench fabric | Purl Samoheyl’s Art | sconce
Velvet bench fabric It’s from Pollack and is very clean and soft with texture and subtle patterns. I found three paintings from purl (A local artist and maker I am a huge fan – he made our coffee table, Corbel, and the big pencils and paintbrushes we love). They feel vintage, they are gross, and in terms of colour, they are perfect here.

I’ve balanced three paintings This beautiful mirror From anthropology, which really beautifully reflects the light and concludes the vignette. Again, this dark wood hit really pulled in the richer darker red tones of the fabric, adding a lot of depth.

“Before” and after slider time!

The room was really attractive, layered, comfortable, warm and still designed. I personally love darker TV/family rooms. Especially if it can be closed (not open to the rest of the house). When you enter it feels like a unique experience, but the colour and style still match the home (warm modern). We hope you like it!
