Really Good Fall Jackets (Barn Jackets FTW)

I think it’s safe to say that the barn jacket is spending a moment. They are western neighbors and I think they are full of utilitarian nostalgia. But we mainly love them because we are easy to throw and wear them, and have mixed materials (usually denim or canvas with different collars) and plenty of pockets. It’s very big now. I wear a small XS, but it’s still big. We like this look (and look great in tall boots), but the DEF size is down even if you need extra large.

This Maidwell Jacket I think it was hard to find, but I think it’s very popular, but I found it at Nordstrom. It’s pretty perfect.

It is polished (we love dark denim, contrasting threads, and brass buttons), and the tranco style back gives it a firm, utilitarian vibe. I wear a medium here so I’ll size it up (the smaller ones may fit, but not as I’d hoped the barn jacket would fit.

now This one It was great from Old Navy (Old Navy has always done very well with utilitarian jackets, and I still wear them often last year). They only had the XS small in the store and it fitted, but I definitely got a small one so I had more room for more layers.

I love it This ladies jacket It has a dark, bold tone (typically bright colors). It is equipped, refined and flattering – perfect for city jobs where you go to the office but still want to look thin enough to keep it inside.

I loved the boxy crops, square pockets and swings (I loved where it landed on me as it was so similar to Madewell’s one). The smaller ones are still quite wide so I was able to layer them on top of a thin sweatshirt.
