Today is an exclusive sneak peak for readers before being blown up by the world. You are Sean Lowe, yes, the most likeable former bachelor, and I have something to say to you. Next week we partnered to launch the first line of sofas. It is called room service. Made in America. First time in Emily’s history (sorry, it took me a while 🙂
I feel that the backstory is necessary here – how did you get to it exactly? Sean and his business partner Clay Silver founded a furniture company 10 years ago. Right after he’s finished, you see The BachelorR (How cute is he and Katherine on social?), he asks his longtime best friend Clay about the dream pit style section of a wedding gift. Clay’s family has decades of experience in manufacturing and selling furniture and is extremely successful in this truly challenging space. The section went viral, so with its success, they built a really robust line and their own company (I didn’t know, TBH). They were ready to expand, so they approached me on a very clear pitch – I design furniture (with the help of a talented team) Complete creative control, He and Clay handle all factory contracts, operations, logistics, fabric sourcing, manufacturing, inventory, customer service – everything outside of my expertise/experience or desire. My interest was holes enough to jump on the phone with them, but it really worked. They were honest, wonderful, clever, experienced, and once again seemed willing to give us complete creative design control, taking away our stress. It felt natural and easy. I wasn’t sure I still had the bandwidth to do it, but my team was cheerleading around me and I was sure it was the right time and they were the right operational partners (they were right!). A year and a half later, we have a sofa line that we are very proud of. I love each of them so. I’ll explain more about them all the rest of the week that’s been so great about them and why we designed exactly how we did it (but I know my team and I are led by Jess). True EHD collaboration in all respects – I am constantly grateful to my team.
Get this… They are only sold through WayFair as they are trusted companies that have mastered the science of logistics and delivery. It’s a true love triangle. Slavery in the furniture industry (as we use actual restraints here and not use more “final roses” puns). Our collective goal is to quickly get stylish and comfortable furniture. The whole thing was very enjoyable and fulfilling.
First sneak peak…
So here it is – and more sizes and colors are available. Everything is live on the WayFair website and is available for purchase as of today. What I wanted to give to you is my loyal blog reader (thank you), the reason I lifted my head is because some people are afraid they’ll sell out (they can’t stock each SKU). Wayfair is quickly rising with large cataloging capabilities and large marketing and advertising campaigns. If you’re in the sofa market, you spend the weekend before it’s blown up on social and I start talking to the world about it. But if you need to sell out with the good news, you can make it quickly and ship as it is made in the USA and has a great factory in Texas (no lead time of 10-12 weeks) (you can visit twice and make sure it’s enough for your family/home. they are). We adjusted the design a lot (I ask Sean), and I was particularly engrossed in the comfort of all of them and the way they do their family (the perfect form/padding combination for each sit-in experience).
