The blissful moments of Bessette and Kennedy’s marriage were laced with turbulent, highly publicized, and sometimes physically violent incidents. and the untimely end of their relationship.

As evidenced by the circa-1997 photo above, Bessette and Kennedy were style icons throughout, frequently praised for achieving a kind of chic effortlessness in their everyday ensembles. While Kennedy was often seen alternating between sharp tuxedos and seemingly incongruous looks that included cloth headbands, oval sunnies, or old knitwear and the occasional backwards baseball cap, Bessette was a pioneer of cool-girl minimalism. Focusing on classic items in muted colors, he popularized high-quality accessories such as the LL Beanboat and totes that have become associated with East Coast summers. The Kennedys vacation on their Hyannis Port property in Massachusetts.
“Love Story” not only shows viewers the twists and turns of the marriage between a lawyer-slash-magazine publisher and a fashion publicist, but also pays full homage to the couple’s joint sartorial prowess. Interestingly, the show’s costume designer had to be replaced after fans expressed early disappointment with the costumes and their deviation from reality.
Pigeon has no shortage of quietly luxurious outfits, including body-hugging black turtlenecks and LBDs, bootcut jeans (Bessette had a soft spot for Levi’s), and camel-colored coats. On screen, Kelly also gives off great energy: “I went to Brown and was Sexiest Man Alive in 1988.” What does this mean? After streaming the show online, you’ll be forced to change your wardrobe rotation.
