What will athletes wear at the 2026 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony?

Historically, the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics involves a procession of athletes from each country entering the stadium wearing patriotic costumes made especially for the occasion. The so-called “parades of nations” will also be held in four locations this year instead of one, and will be accompanied by live music by global superstars and the lighting of the Olympic cauldron (this time in the plural).

On the fashion front, Ralph Lauren ranks first as the official outfitter for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams. The brand is joined on the metaphorical podium by Lululemon (behind Team Canada’s outfit) and Emporio Armani, outfitting the Italian athletes competing on their home turf. As WWD previously reported, the opening ceremony will also include a full-scale tribute to the late Giorgio Armani. Other labels, from Moncler and Skims to J.Crew, Adidas and Nike, are also behind the ensembles you’ll be sure to see Friday and beyond.

A few days ago, the worlds of clothing and sports collided in an unexpected Winter Olympics fashion showcase. The fashion-forward event, held on Wednesday, featured real Olympic athletes filling the runway, offering a glimpse into “style moments worn by athletes on and off the field.” According to the International Olympic Committee.

Want to show your support for Team USA? Ralph Lauren recently made Opening Ceremony coats, sweaters, earmuffs, socks, and boots available for purchase. Since then, most of the items have been sold out. Team USA Opening Ceremony Wool Pants A lucky exception.

Competing against the sports legends you respect is now easier than ever.
