Let’s talk about having our own space during the most “friends and family” time of year. Drinking plenty of ‘House Pride’ is something Em has talked about, so I try to work on that every time I have friends over. Will they still love me if my place is a little messy or my room is not completely designed? of course. But am I happier and full of “home pride” when it’s top notch? Of course. As the biggest sale season of the year, this is the perfect time to pick up those items you’ve been considering to really make your space look ready for guests (and good for you!). As you know, we are big fans wayfairconsidering how deep, good quality, and affordable the inventory is. They wanted to partner on a post, so naturally I immediately put my hand up. As you’ll soon find out, it’s always a lot of fun to put together. So, to get your wheels of inspiration spinning, we’ve compiled a list of the three rooms where your guests spend most of their time: the living room, dining room, and bedroom (if you’re staying overnight). Then, to make it even more fun (and hopefully helpful), I gave each room a “Christmas makeover.” Again, everything is from Wayfair, and all of these items ship quickly and arrive in time well before Christmas.
Living room – daily life

Welcome to my rich, organic, and effortless living room. I started with our charcoal milo section Because I think gray is a “safe” color to choose, and I know it’s a really beautiful color to look at. We also selected sections with the possibility of more seating/lounges in mind. Milo is coming too on the sofa If you love it but don’t have space for the whole cross section 🙂 But to bring in some warmth (and avoid a cold gray space) I chose this great one chocolate brown rug. The pattern is modern, but equally versatile. coffee table Beautiful solid wood. I believe it was also featured in “Best Affordable Furniture of 2025”. When your work is this beautiful, it needs to be praised over and over again. Then I chose round side table To keep things interesting and offset all the rectangular shapes, it’s finished in a dark wood grain. Also note that there are legs/open spaces (sections and media center) underneath the two pieces, and that the coffee table and side table are flush with the ground. Don’t forget to balance this visual weight. Your eyes will thank you. I chose it because it has a lot of dark colors for balance. that credenza For woven door panels. It adds texture and creates lightness. The same goes for lamps! brass floor lamp bright (and something a little metallic always helps make a room sparkle), and table lamp The color is white and gives off a beautiful soft glow. Finally, for the pillows and throws, I wanted to mix bright tones, colors, and patterns. Burgundy is still on trend, but it’s still a classic, so it’s a color I wanted to incorporate. Additionally, most of these pillows are from the Chris Loves Julia x Loloi line. Well, that’s good. Em used them a lot in River House, so we found out they are actually EHD approved 🙂 Now let’s decorate this room for Christmas…
The Living Room – A Moody and Whimsical Christmas

She’s moody, a little classic, and quirky, no? that tree This is what Emily used for her Curly Christmas shoot and she loves it (and it’s affordable!). I chose that skirt Talk about bright colors on the pillows and cabinet fronts 🙂 Balance is everything. then i saw That wooden figurineand they immediately reminded me of the ornaments on the trees I grew up with. I think it’s very nostalgic and very appealing to a lot of people. So, in order to incorporate the cool tone of the sectional, I came up with the following. Ball decoration wrapped in velvet It goes well with the blue of the wooden ornaments and is a cute, textured option. Regarding the final set of decorations, origami honeycomb ornaments It’s textured, fun, and speaks to every brown person in the room. Two more EHD Christmas decoration staples are: small house and accordion tree. Both sets look great, with wood patterns and classic colors adding lots of playfulness. Oh, what could be cuter and more playful than that? small wooden elk??there is nothing. I wanted to add a lot of red to give it a “classic Christmas” feel, wreath and big red ribbon, throw blanketand striped pillow It was easy. that green pillow It’s easy to replace, and the frills on the edges are irresistibly cute. Here’s a dining room setup with an organic, modern twist. table It was my first choice. I wanted something fresh, but not so trendy that it would get boring after a few years. This fits the bill perfectly! You can choose from two sizes: 6-seater and 8-seater. chair were the next hurdles, but these were quickly found. Green is a great neutral for everyday life, especially for Christmas 😉 I can totally relate to Em’s sentiment that upholstered chairs are the ideal choice for long dinners. Reviews confirm that these babies are definitely comfortable. I know that putting a rug under the dining table is a divisive topic, but I’d like to give my professional opinion. I think this colorway Perfect for a little chaos. And I loved the contrast in style with the more modern furniture. Oh, and candlestick holder Too! The modern abstract look mixed with the traditional patterns of the rug felt just right and eclectic to me. to the next credenza. This is under $300 and is very beautiful. There’s definitely a bit of a rustic wood grain to it. But to modernize, I loved ithat bronze frame mirror and textured ceramic scones. These are plugins, so no junction box is needed 🙂 Also, how do Id is that footed bowl?!I thought it would be great to play from the bowl afterwards black pitcher (Perfect with water, a vase, or as a delicious cocktail;)). Finally, I think most people have tableware, but in case you don’t, I love This modern organic set. It’s a full set at a very good price. If you are a placemat person, these linen ones with frayed edges It’s very cute and chic. Are you ready for your Christmas feast?
The Dining Room – A Rustic and Whimsical Christmas

Just a little addition can make a big difference, right? We think the easiest way to make your dining table setup feel festive is by adding color placemat and some decorations ( candlestick holder). If you’re someone who has a special set of tableware for Christmas, that’s great, but in reality, it doesn’t take long to use most of what you have. Then I love the idea of adding wreath Beautiful (and unobtrusive) so in a credenza. But if you’re a runner and like to put garlands on the table, that’s great too. then you knew accordion tree is coming and wow, I love the different shapes in this set. then throw in little santaAnd this setup is, dare I say it, 10/10. Now, I’m full and tired, so let’s go to sleep.

This room is perfect for a primary suite. If you’re looking for bedroom inspiration for yourself or your guests, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s start with the main part bed. This chic and effortless bed is under $350…excuse me? But my favorite piece is… modern and traditional nightstand. Believe me, they cost less than $75 each and look just as great in person as they do in the customer review photos. If you need a nightstand and this is your style, scoop these up. But you know, I like to mix it up, so bench (It has storage capacity!) dresser More modern. We believe that a room with a good combination of styles will always be cool and interesting. The same goes for lighting. candlestick While it tends to be more traditional; table lamp It’s modern. However, the shapes of the shades speak to each other and the textures work together very well. And if you’re wondering if all that bedding is Wayfair, yes it is 🙂 pinstripe comforter set Reminds me a lot of mine (but much more affordable). The stripes are a rusty color, so it has a bit of color warmth and is perfect for coordinating. burgundy cushion And a table lamp. This is a Christmas-style bedroom! Of course, since it’s a bedroom, there’s no need to decorate it, but it’s fun! If you are a guest staying overnight, we will be even more careful. I just did a few simple and easy things.
