Hey everyone, I’ve posted quite a few Etsy gifts in the Home Gift Guide (linked here if you missed it), and I’m happy to report that many of them have sold out. Truly, there is nothing more gratifying than receiving an email from a manufacturer who is unquestioningly happy after introducing a product to you. So we thought we’d do a full post about our favorite recent finds on Etsy and see if the power of this blog can bring some Christmas magic to these artists and the recipients of their products.
cute candles and candle holders
handmade scandi candle holders: Made by the Manufacturer, it is truly a beautiful handcrafted piece that is timeless, timeless, and timeless.
ceramic candle fire extinguisher: Why blow out a candle when you can blow it out (and leave this style next to it)? It’s especially useful for mantle candles so you don’t have to blow wax all over the wall (true story).
single wall candle sconce: This will look great next to a piece of art, whether lit or unlit.
cable knit candle: This candle with a cute box of matches is easy 🙂
striped candlestick holder: How playful, quirky, and fun. A forward-thinking design for those who love color and pattern.
wooden candle holder vase set: A beautiful classic set that can be split in two or given together as one gift.
reversible hand block quilt: Looks great when used as a coverlet or folded at the foot of the bed (or over the couch).
ruffled linen pillowcase: Washed linen in the most beautiful colors (becomes “grandma” in a not too fussy way).
hand woven wool comforter: It has very beautiful colors and a simple pattern.
walnut scallop cutting board: The waveform edge makes this possible. I bought this for myself ^^
handmade salt cellar: It will look gorgeous next to your stove (and is made by a small manufacturer).
scalloped wood cookbook stand: I still have an analog job in the kitchen (I hate looking at my phone or laptop and keeping pages unlocked). How beautiful is this?
Japanese salt storage: With an endless obsession with countertop beauty, this moody salt cellar (maybe it has Jacobson salt in it?) would look great in a more modern organic kitchen.
wood cutting board: Although it is made of wood, it has a checkered pattern. 10/10
round ceramic butter dish: My love for buttery dishes knows no bounds…see?…
handmade butter dish: It’s dark and moody and has a loop on it.
french butter keeper: If the French do it this way, I’m sure you should too.
european butter dish: For those who like butter plates that fit larger sticks (like Kerrigold).
Leather + ceramic trinket box: Think your nightstand, your entryway, on top of a stack of books, or your bathroom vanity 🙂
handmade stash box: Handcrafted, super cute and useful, the round shape is perfect for stacking square books (hide handwritten notes inside!)
animal trinket box: For those looking for eccentricity. How cute is that?
Pedestal bowl and vase set: It’s definitely a statement, but I love its versatility.
spiky serving tray: Oddly enough, punk rock is on the serving tray 🙂
ceramic serving tray: A very beautiful track shape with a classic and very delicate lip.
blue ceramic platter: It looks very cute when placed on a vertical shelf.
ceramic carved oval platter: I love this handmade feel (for those who like warm minimalism).
striped serving platter: It’s a fun, pop pattern, but with a classic color palette.
All of these are great for styling, like placing candles or matches on top of a stack of books. You can keep your hair ties or jewelry on your nightstand, or your keys on your vanity or entryway table. These can literally be placed anywhere – hear me out 🙂
marble bubble coaster: A really nice little border (oh, it could also make a wine bottle coaster!)
cloud concrete tray: Organic yet simple (and not boring).
stone catcher: I love how the lights dance with this catchall.
ceramic jug vase: Do not sleep on a vase jug. The handles emphasize the overall shape of the flower arrangement.
wooden box with lid: Perfect for holding matches, keys, or on a nightstand with your loved one.
leather wall pocket organizer: Ideal for spaces where vertical wall space needs to be utilized for storage.
original abstract painting: Original paintings (for sale, but the artist has many others). Art is the most difficult thing to buy for your home. These pieces are easy to love.
original mixed media collage: There are so many unique and original collages to choose from (gifting art is my favorite).
original oil painting: An original oil painting (this one sold, but she has many more in her Etsy shop). I love these colors (and only one!!)
small oyster picture: Oysters and sardines are all the rage right now – don’t ask, but I’m obsessed with them too!
minimalist bird art print: The color palette has a soft impression with pops of blue, giving it a sophisticated yet playful feel.
original watercolor painting: Not a print!! An original watercolor painting (there are many different types!) that adds so much soul to your home!
Things I have and love on Etsy
charm necklace: I have this and I’ve already added the charms my kids give me every Mother’s Day (great hack, ladies – just add a cute charm and everyone wins. The kids love choosing charms that represent their interests that year :))
monogram golf ball markers: I bought these for my FIL in hopes that he would like them and brag about me to his friends 🙂
handkerchief pottery pot: I love how this bowl catches the light (dances around) on top of the pile of books. Also available in creamy white (can hold anything from nuts to matches to remote controls!)
bobbin frame: These lacquered colors are very beautiful and this manufacturer has done this very well. Please support her instead of the big box imitations! These live on our family wall at the top of the stairs and reflect the light.
customized tennis bracelet: My sentimentalism knows no bounds. I sent Brian the link for the Elliot and Charlie bracelet (gold). I’m not a woman who loves diamonds, so it doesn’t have to be high-end jewelry 🙂
I feel like I’m hooked on Etsy in a good way. On Saturday mornings, I drink coffee and dig deep into art and pottery that I probably don’t need but really want. Supporting small manufacturers, local or not, is a win-win. Also, if you missed Wednesday’s “Best Stores for Small Shopping in Portland” post, if you’re local, head over there and support the amazing creative community here. xx
