Welcome to my monthly posts that take a peek at our home last month! Let’s say January is turbulent!
We returned from our Christmas trip to Kansas on January 1st and started the moon. Kathryn and Mika got sick when they got home, and by the time we got home they were both really sick. He breathed so badly that we took Mika to the ER a few hours after we got home.

On January 3rd, we took Kathryn to the ER. Because she wasn’t doing well at all. She eventually tested positive for flu A and her chest x-ray showed bronchitis. They gave her liquid and after her level looked good, they let her go.

We came back home and I tried to take care of her and take care of myself as I was feeling under the weather too. I printed out the target sheet in January. (I had to laugh when I pulled this photo from my Instagram story and saw a typo short that I missed when posting this!)

On January 5th, Kathryn wasn’t doing well at all, so we went back to the ER. We are so grateful that we were encouraged to bring her back as her flu A and bronchitis have turned into the first stages of bacterial pneumonia and sepsis. They caught it in time and were able to get her on antibiotics immediately. She was hospitalized in the ICU step-down unit for several days.

I realized I posted this photo in between food…but that’s life here! Silas collided in basketball practice, ending with five stitches and a concussion. That means that the next few weeks are not a bit lighter school and we couldn’t play basketball for the rest of the season. He was such a trooper, but I’m grateful that he’s fully recovered!
